The 7163 has surprisingly very similar response to 6758. It’s because for the 7163, the inlet turbine the compressor wheel has a hybrid design. It works so well it overcomes the size difference which would normally cause a decent bit of lag. That hybrid wheel solves that.

@@Das-eq2wk You haven't correct it? Which car did you put it on? If it was a naturally aspirated car, never setup for turbos, most N/A computers will let you get away with up to around 4psi! After that the fuel and timing maps will be way off, it will run too lean and you can possibly damage your engine. The cure for that situation is to get a new chip, or a piggy back ecu and/or a dyno tune. If you are maxing out your fuel system, your looking at possibly a larger fuel pump and bigger injectors or aux injectors or more pressure in the fuel rail, and also have the computer tuned for that.
@Das-eq2wk2 жыл бұрын
@@dennisrobinson8008 Im not running lean at all. 95 turbo with an MS3X. I believe its a spark issue because reducing dwell from 4ms to 2ms solves the problem until the car warms up, at which point it comes back. The thing is, I have ls2 coils. The misfiring still happened when I was on stock coils.

the formula for the exhaust is (horsepower/10)+35 (in mm) so 3inch=75mm is good 400hp crank for your hp you need 3,5 which is for 525hp crank, for me you need 3 3/4 at least and for this set up. this is the reason for your pressure build up. nice job again keep the hp rising.

Great video, the more info the better :) . Do you log the speed on the new turbo? Would be interesting to see where your at now. You clearly showed how important the efficieny is, and why pushing a too small turbo to the limits might not be the best solution. I did many turbo tests in OEM labs developing turbo systems, even in multi million dollar test cells rerunning the base line is kind of important(though chasing smaller differences) , cred to you for doing it!
@TheCarPassionChannel2 жыл бұрын
I actually had a few minutes about comp speed edited into this video and I had to take it out. I made an error, I didn't realize the 6258 has a 14 blade compressor and the 6758 has a 12 blade, so even though it was reading 133k, it should actually be around 154k, which is the limit of the 6758. This turbo is very near to its limit at 500, but I'm certainly at least going to take it for a re-tune with the bigger fuel system and see if I can't find just 2.4whp somewhere.
