I've heard people in the civic world say that the hard fuel lines are only capable of X amount of HP and fuel flow. Thry say eventually you have to upgrade to a larger diameter hose to support larger fuel systems. Is there a known amount of fuel that can be pushed through the miata hard lines? Or is it something way above what you are planning on making?

I'm sure at some point there is a limit. Online sources say the 5/16 line should be okay to 600hp, for 99.999% of Miata owners including myself the lines will not be an issue

Man, talk about a timely vid... Just finished my supercharger upgrades. 150mm crank pulley, 65mm nose pulley. 312cc injectors plus a 5th 550cc throttle body mounted injector (fires 1x each spark fire) and progressive (50/50) water/meth injection tapped into the intake. Max is now 24lbs boost, and AFRs are rising from mid 12s into low 13s past 5500 in 4th. Installed Deatschwerks 255lph fuel pump is rated 40psi but I didn't even think about the 24psi of boost fighting the rail! If I add more fuel it bogs... Less and I get knock. Trying to find that "sweet spot"!
@hdhellion41282 жыл бұрын
What made you put the meth at the intake?
@dpg_creative2 жыл бұрын
@@hdhellion4128 My supercharger setup is cold sided, so the best options are to drill and tap the manifold pan or spray pre charger. The former can hydrolock your engine if anything goes wrong with the injector, so I decided to go the less risky route with pre charger injection on the intake. The incoming blast gets diffused by the blades perfectly. I placed it about 2 inches back from the supercharger air inlet.
@hdhellion41282 жыл бұрын
@@dpg_creative isn't that going to destroy , eventually, the blades?
@dpg_creative2 жыл бұрын
@@hdhellion4128 The MP62 blades do have a teflon-like coating that will erode over time with meth use, but that alone can't destroy the blades unless you ignore serviceable parts like the coupler and needle bearings. I just replaced the coupler for $15 and cleaned and re-greased the bearings and no balance issues - i.e. the blades are not hitting each other or the inside casing. Dumped in a $12 bottle of SC oil, and good to go. Took an hour to do everything. I'll probably wind up doing that about every 10k mi since the meth is pretty effective at removing grease too, but it's a small price to pay for the incredible reduction in IATs.

What specific turbo does he run? And is there any more dyno/info other than saying it's responsive? I haven't been following his stuff too closely lately. The Garrett GTX2860R is most similar in headroom to the two turbos tested here, anything with a GTX30 exhaust side is going to be more sluggish in trade for flow. The EFR "Gamma-Ti" turbine wheels are literally half the weight of the equivalent Garretts, the response is ridiculous
