MIB STD2 Toolbox installation on Technisat/Preh main unit

Installing MIB STD2 Toolbox in VW Discover Media infotainment system to access to filesystem, customization options, tweaks and patches. Installation is fairly easy, does not require
🛠 MIB STD2 Toolbox v0.7 Features
Dumping system files to SD card, including skins, sounds, SWAP, SWDL, FEC exceptions list, and more.
Changing 5F adaptation values from the menu
Removing CID lock for navigation SD card.
Removing MirrorLink lock.
Enabling manual Software Download (SWDL).
Enabling #MIB2 telnet network connection.

Installation of the #Toolbox will cause fault codes 1555 and 1556.
You are doing everything at your own risk.
ℹ️ Requirements
Hardware: MIB2 #STD Technisat/Preh main units with GPS navigation. Delphi and Harman is not supported. Non-navigation devices are not supported with this installation method.
Software: 01xx, 02xx, 03xx, or 04xx firmware. 05xx is not supported.
Developer mode needs to be enabled, to enter Green Engineering Menu (GEM). You can do it with VCDS, OBDeleven, or any other VAG diagnostic tool.
❓ How to install
1. Format an SD card with FAT32 file system.
2. Download latest release of the toolbox (link below).
3. Extract the ZIP package to the SD card.
4. If your unit have GEM in version 3.4 or 3.5, replace the \cpu folder with the one from \toolbox\gem\cpu.
5. Turn on your main unit, remove all SD cards from it.
6. Insert your SD card in slot 1.
7. Press and hold MENU button for 3 seconds to enter "Service Mode". Select "Software update/versions", "Update", "SD card", "MIBStd2_Online_Approval (V432-1)", "Start", "Next".
8. Wait patiently. Main unit will reboot 2 times before it will show you list of updated modules.
9. Press back arrow in top-right corner. Main unit will reboot for the third time.
10. Press and hold MENU button for 10 seconds to enter "Testmode menue", select "Green Engineering Menu", "mib2std_toolbox", and have fun!

Thanks for this great tutorial 🙂 The Skoda Amundsen MIB2 Head unit with part number 5Q0035874 comes in 3 different versions; A, B and C. Do you know if the toolbox software can be installed on all versions? There is a software and hardware version printed on top of them next to part number. The instructions mention a different procedure for certain versions of the green engineering menu. Does that mean you first need to activate the green engineering menu before you do this? Watching the other video that uses OBDEleven which I don't have. Just checking to see if I need that first.

Me fix. I’ve been following all the steps to insta toolbox in my VW Jetta Mib2 std with single SD card slot available. But the it seems like patch is not detecting and can’t start the update. Any tips?

You can additionally install extended green menu GEM. Just keep the same SD card in the slot and select dedicated option in GEM. You will be surprised how much extra configuration options is added in.

Could somebody please give me some advise/help? I have the mst2_eu_vw_zr_P0137T installed, but want to be able to install Toolbox so that I can use a map on a custom SD card. I tried to install Toolbox without firmware update with the solution to replace the cpu folder from GEM folder with the one in the root of the SD card so that the root CPU folder is replaced with the GEM folder version. After 10 attempts it keeps saying: start electric test. Mainunit/version compare. Accept this error code leads to restart(translated from Dutch). What should I do to make it work? I hope it will be possible.

cześć Pan-Fix, dzięki twoimi tutorialami. Ok, so I have Passat B8 2017 Kombi with Discover Media Navigation and I'm wanting to do some updates. I put some files on a 32Gb usb-stick formatted as FAT32 and when I insert it in the USB port in the centre console nothing happens, on the headunit it doesn't let me choose the USB, so is something wrong with that? Thing is I don't have SD-Card reader in my laptop so that's why I wanted to use USB. The other thing is I can't remove my USB port to check if it's got hardware key for carplay/android auto (green plug or purple plug). I want to activate a few things like App-Connect, voice command in steering wheel, video-in-motion without having to buy OBDEleven.

Hi, amazing video. I have one question. The first link in this video is updated for the toolbox, and the second video is the toolbox? I have the same MIB2 with the same firmware MST2_EU_VW_ZR_ PO245T So, for now, I activated developer mod with VCDS, and without instal toolbox, when I press MENU butoon 10sec, I get a green screen but not a toolbox option. So something I makes ok. 😂 Now, today, I try updating new firmware for him. The last number is 0254, but he can't recognise the file on a micro card. So, do I need a toolbox for this to turn off something before installing new firmware and then after I unlock the app conect? Thanks in front.

Thanks for the helpful videos. In this video, you press "back" for 2 minutes 46 seconds, and the touch does not work in my unit in the upper right corner. Is there any way to replace this action (key combination or something else)? My unit is in state after two reboots and not running. Turning off the power or rebooting returns the unit to the same state. Help me please. Maybe with the help of VCDS you can somehow advance the installation.

Hello Mr-Fix. I just want to thank you for the great videos and the information you provide. It has been a great help. I had my Octavia for six years and the smart link was disabled from factory. I even considered paying £150 to the dealer to install the codes, if I could find a dealer to do it. Thanks to you I have enabled CarPlay only to find that I have to change the usb socket.

1556 error should not be present with installation of latest version. It was a fileversion inconsitency with old installtion. It is fixable tho. 1555 or SVM Error is also fixable with XOR claculator and some diagnostic software. Good explanation and that you listed everything and not want to stell this toolbox :-) BTW: If you run the build in update script from the menu your old menu entry should be deleted ;-)
