I've used different kinds of pens to do this resin pens not only ink joy.. I've also used mod podge to adhere glitter then spray sealed and epoxied. This is gorgeous I must say..🥰

@@KristisCustomCreations I bought the 88 cents pens from Walmart comes in a pack of 2. Anything that can come apart.. even the ones that have 2 parts to them(bottom and top) I jus glitter/decorate separately and jus twist them back together. I put washi or a lil bling around the separated part or just leave as is..I grabbed anything I had in my pen box when I first watched your tutorial and began decorating. I love my pens and this just made me ecstatic that I could custom design them..thank you.. you were my first tutorial I watched 🤙

No sanding required? This method is much faster than using glitter. The outcome is superb. Can you put vinyl on it and if so do you have to epoxy over it? Thanks.

Yes! After the epoxy/mica mix dries, you can vinyl the pen then add a final coat of epoxy over it.

Hey love your videos!! I have a question on your preference. In a previous video you used a reusable plastic straw instead of wooden dowel. Which do you perfer with the epoxy pens?

I have been doing the mica powder but no matter what I try, I cannot get the mica color to stay at the tip and end of the pen... any thoughts? Also, what size rubber bands do you use? Thank you as always, you’re amazing!

I honestly have no clue what size rubber bands they are, they are just some old ones that I found laying around the house. For the mica powder, I keep adding more Mica powder at the end of the pens as it spins and as it tries to recede from the ends. As the epoxy thickens, it won't recede from the end of the pen.

Hi, I am in the UK and these inkjoy pens are hard to find as if I type inkjoy, it’s the other type that comes up where there is a plastic ring bit at the top around the hook/ pen anchor thing it also has a black bit at the top not a silver one like yours, and when I finally found the last lot on Amazon it was 19£ for 12. Is the any other pens this can work with? Thanks

Yes ma'am, there are other pen brands out there that will work. As long as you can take the pen apart in a similar manor as these pens then it should work for you. I haven't personally used any other brand but there are definitely other options out there for you. 🥰

I just cannot find a dowel that will hold the pen without breaking off the little thread piece inside and still hold the pen ☹️☹️ I’m so frustrated and I have 50 pens! I really want to be able to make them.......

Really? What size dowels are you using? I use 1/4" and never have any issues. Is it possible that epoxy is getting inside the pens?

If you are getting epoxy inside the dowel, you can vaseline the dowel and it works perfectly! I am like Kristi, I use 1/4 in dowels, and works great! I have had to add a little bit of painter's tape to stop them, but it works great!
