Jees. I've been playing guitar for 12 years; I really wish i could get such fantastic rhythm and unique tone out of a guitar. i dont think ppl realize how mind-boggling amazing it is that she can extract such controllable dissonance with such rhythmic control. J Mascis tried to 'make his guitar' sound like drums, but tbh I think Micachu does a much better job (& she's not on the top 100 guitarists of all time list). Absolutely awesome. I suppose some people don't like dissonance, but I accidentally wandered into a concert of hers during the last two songs and was blown away!! so awesome. thought she was an austrailian dude playing crappy garage rock at first; but actually a classically trained girl with an insane skillset. such good muzix

and she's doing it on that tiny guitar that you know has terrible intonation and probably can't hold a tuning!

0:11 there's something pretty magic about seeing the first moment she knew about how a slate/clapperboard works and then knowing that she's going to go on to make some really fantastic film scores (Under The Skin/Jackie)

This is like caviar; it's an acquired taste. You have to work your way up to a place where you can appreciate this sort of thing; if you are going from somewhat tamed, or dare I say, "normal" music, and leaping straight into this, you will struggle to find anything of substance.
@dipjonrd48747 жыл бұрын
itmyowninvention no, your comment is ridiculously condescending. "Work your way up." Mica Levy is good at a lot of things but let's be 100% freaking clear: she is not playing that guitar well at all in this video. I haven't seen her in other videos but this is just sloppy, she hardly gets her hands in the right position in time, you can also tell she isn't totally pressing the strings down (a sign that she probably doesn't play guitar all the time). Stop with your esoteric BS, this isn't good in any way. Mica levy has talent in many aspects, but this is surely not one.

this is terrible. It cost the tax payer serious bucks to send mugs like this to private music school and this is what you end up with. Look it up. Purcell school - annual fees as of 2009 = £29,577. If she got government funded place, well, don't even get me started. Having said that, Not everyone can be a wonderful Pianist or a great singer etc. Peace homies.
