The reason the hole on the new helmet is higher is so that when you put a visor (like commander Cody’s) on the clone, it doesn’t look stupid and line up with the eyes. It should line up with that line about the visor, so the holes need to be there.

The helmet holes aren't a problem depending on who has them. Grunts should never have them. People with visors are the only people that should have them. I think that it is in the wrong spot for people with rangefinders but it works for me. JUST NOT ON REGULAR TROOPERS

@@micahnike18 well, I think with lego specifically, having more connections is always a good thing. Customizability and modularity are a staple of the lego system. Now obviously in the case of figures, this usually isn't worth it if it comes at the cost of looks, which I am in agreement with. However, the holes just don't look too bad in my opinion. In and of themselves they are easy to ignore, and they're completely covered up when using a visor or other accessory. It's like saying you don't like studs on your brick because it's supposed to be rectangular. My only problem with this mould is that apparently it comes with printing limitations, as seen with the 212th triangle getting cut off. However, that is easily fixable if lego were to just move the print up. Overall, I just think they add more fun to be had and more possibilities with getting characters that were previously out of the question.
