My daughter Madeline who has Spina Bifida along with other disabilities has been seeing Dr. Friesion for 14 years. He always makes the family and patient feels welcome. His staff is awesome too.

I was referred to an orthopedic doctor, being that Katie had much success, I chose to use Dr. Michael A. Frierson at Our Lady of the Lake. Well, that ended up being a complete bust! He reviewed everything and told me " I was depressed" I told him all the symptoms ( hypermobility, gi problems, easy bruising, low muscle tone, very elastic skin..),... he said "it's depression" I busted into tears .... He said" "see your crying, another sign of depression." I walked out. I immediately left and went to Ochsner and told my mom. She took me to see Dr. Ishler to tell him what happened. He said no, you have it. He gave me a referral to a Rheumatologist at Ochsner, New Orleans. I ended up with EVERY Rheumatologist in my room watching me as I did the Beighton Scale test and showing them my "tricks." They all agreed that they thought I had it but didn't feel qualified to give the diagnosis. I was then referred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where I finally received a diagnosis of EDS 3/an answer to all my pain and symptoms.
