I had a student back in like 2001 or 2002. He was a big metal head and he was shocked his teacher was too. We started swapping cd’s and one of the cd’s he gave me was arch enemy. I was blown away. Then I saw AE open for Iron Maiden in ‘03 at universal amphitheater in Los Angeles. Both nights. They were absolutely amazing. Been a huge fan since. Seen them a few times since then both with Angela and Alyssa. I am partial to the older material. I think there was a magic he had writing with his brother. They had a chemistry that was so unique. Obviously. But the newer material is really good. He is such an underrated guitarist. He writes amazing riffs and melodic solos. So few players write solos with such beauty. His phrasing is so unique. to see AE at their best just watch the video in Japan of the rise of the tyrant tour. Pure f***ing metal \m/ \m/

Bill Steer and Carcass changed your life as a guitar player however, nothing comes without hard work and you worked hard to be where you are now Michael 🤟

I’ve played for many many years and I’ve owned many guitars over the years and I have always wanted a “Flying V”. A guitar store in my town was selling one used. It was a Dean Flying V guitar and I fell instantly in love with it. Beautiful guitar, sounds great, plays great and it was the only one they had and I really liked the price it was labeled at and I thought to myself; I am NOT walking out of here without that guitar. And now i own a Dime edition Dean Razor. And, now that I own 2 of the most badass guitars I’ve ever played and I am fully satisfied with my purchases. Dean is a brand of guitar that I will always stand by

I do not have a V, but it‘s cool you can put it on the floor, lean it to the amp and it stands save

Nice interview...but why is this so crappy video quality especially when Michael is filmed from the side?!?

It's not crappy for me I can clearly see his face and all his features and movements

The interviewer needs to do more research and get ready with the right questions...

I wonder how much he switches between the two pickups. If he's a bridge-only type of player, he could get rid of the neck pickup and make the fretboard longer...just an idea.
