Michael's music has been an inspiration to me ever since I bought UFO's 'Obsession' album during my teenage years in the 70's. His beautifully unique and lyrical playing has been with me ever since. People have imitated Clapton, Hendrix, Page and countless others since, but his music has always had a voice of its own. I'm glad to see him so alive and vibrant today after all those difficult years growing up with UFO and grappling the addictive problems that many of us face as coping mechanisms get out of control. God bless you Michael.

It's so CRINGE. There's NO excuse for it but there is a reason. Being younger than Rudy, I'm sure this affected Michael psychologically at a deeper level but there's still no excuse.

There's a reason for that, which he talks about. I know some of these folks, Michael is correct. If you don't know the business, then perhaps you'd not understand his experience. He is a pretty pure artist in terms of his vision. Rudolf is a different dude. Michael is very spiritual, but not without flaws, mind, but if you listen, you'll figure it out...

Michael’s playing is unmistakable. His plan on playing guitar his way and not listening and copying other guitarists has really worked wonders for him. His lead work is very melodic with a Wah pedal half set, giving him that rich tone. My favorite MSG band was the McCauley Schenker Group era, but I like them all too. 🎸🤘🏼👍

@@Frip36It sounded too commercial for my tastes. It wasn't McAuley's vocals, he's a great vocalist. Micheal wanted more album sales and it was in the 80's. And McAuley had an ideal voice for that style of rock so that was the goal of those albums. His later efforts with McAuley proved he is a versatile vocalist. My favorite MSG album were the first 2 with Gary Barden, his vocals were just killer.

Amen. Michael won’t admit it, but he paid a huge price for his total dedication to guitar. He sees the big tours, big houses, and big fleets of luxury cars that all the Scorpions enjoy now after years of commercial success, and he must be envious. Uli also followed his vision over mainstream popularity, but at least he’s not bitter about his decision.
@crusheverything44495 ай бұрын
Yup. Michael has been his own worst enemy over his career and brought most of the shit on himself. He’s been assassinating his brother’s character for almost nine years now in every interview and even from the stage, in front of their mutual fans. It’s disgusting. He talks about getting ripped off, but no one has the guts to ask him to his face why, after walking offstage mid-show so many times and leaving paying fans in the lurch, he has never once apologized or offered a make-up show. He’s a crybaby and a hypocrite. A total guitar genius, to be sure, but he comes off as jealous of Rudolf and butthurt that Rudolf turned less talent into a whole lot more money.

@@kipponiwhat’s the situation? If not for Michael there would be NO Scorpions. Michael’s early vision was the album Lonesome Crow. He wrote 80%+ of the songs and was getting ready to record it himself, and Klaus, Rudolf, and the boys wanted in on it so Michael let them play on it. They didn’t even have a band yet. Over about 7 days they threw the band together and “The Scorpions” were born. 😂

It isn't tragic. Micheal just needs to quit fucking with it an concentrate on his own stuff. I noticed that about him. In one interview I saw of him he was asked some questions about the Scorpions, and before you know it Micheal is talking all this angry shit about Rudolf and how didn't get compensated for his efforts. It got to the point to where I said "shut up Micheal" and let it go. Hey, I'm an alcoholic too, so is Micheal so I know how the alcoholic mind works. It's like we will seek shit that makes us angry or causes pain, cause it's a good excuse to have a drink. But Micheal has been sober, let's keep it that way. I love Michael Schenker, he is up there with my all time favorite electric guitarists, and rock and roll personalities .. having said that, geesh, Michael, the BS about your brother - if you were truly happy with your career and music, you would NOT be saying this and harping on it .. EVERYTHING you have experienced in your life has lead you to this point - and that includes all the dealings with Rudy and The Scorpions .. That road has lead to to this point - as one of the greatest of all time .. If things were unfair at times, that is what fueled you to get to this point ... As with anything in life, you either choose to live as the victim, or, you turn and thank the obstacles for making you who you are ... I love this guy, and I guess that cantankerous side is also part of what makes him so good but all of his talk of spirituality and enlightenment rings hollow when you won't shut up about your brother .. and stop making it seem as if you never chased a buck - go and watch some of those videos you did with Robin in the later 80s ...

A service member in the early 80s casually went on stage at a rec center, and strapped on a rough looking strat through a Noisy Silver Face Twin. The entire place took notice of his solo playing. I was excited in telling him that l too play guitar when he returned to our table . I mentioned that i played in several cover bands before entering the military. He replied in seeing me once, and that i wasn't that good of a player .. OMG 😳 the whole table busted out laughing including myself. I took what he said as constructive criticism. l still remember this day 😊

I talked to Michael quite a bit during his worst years in the early 2000’s. That was when he ranted about his ex wives all over his website. I asked him why he didn’t use condoms instead of having kids with every woman that crossed his path and tried to take all his money. he didn’t really have an answer to that. He was messed up and had to sell everything he owned. He’s been in the moneyless position many times, and his lack of business acumen hasn’t helped him. I understand this because I’m the same way: creativity often rules and you don’t think about anything else. This is pure idealism and for that reason alone, he gets my total respect because NO other 70’s guitarist is still producing music this late in his career every two years. (add Robin Trower) He can rant about his brother all he wants. I rant about my brother too. Rudolf made money but he’s a hack. No one is ever going to confuse Rudolf with an actual guitarist. Face facts. Lovedrive was the best scorpions album and for good reason. It had Michael on it during his peak. That is unassailable even by Uli standards. (Jabs I don’t even mention as he’s nothing special) Post lovedrive is a downhill drive, with maybe the exception of ‘blackout’. Animal mag = mostly junk. ‘Love at first sting’ mostly AOR junk. Everything after that isn’t even worth talking about. After Uli and Michael, Scorpions had exactly ONE half decent album in the next 30 years. When I hear the slagging here it makes me sick. Listen to what the man says about CREATIVITY and learn from it. If you are a guitarist or a musician there is some very valuable advice.

I disagree with the jab at Jabs. Animal Magnetism is a 1st Class album -- and apparently Michael had nothing to do with it. Did the songs have a sort of Michael-composition feel about them? Yea, but he didn't have anything to do with them and they kick total ass. Jabs had a needly-weedly super-duper-slinky-string sound, but it worked. I saw them live on the Blackout Tour and he was spot-on throughout every song. Michael has been my all-time favorite lead guitarist since I first heard Strangers in the Night in 1983, and Rudy may very well have copied & imitated Michael, but Michael has no one else but himself to blame for not giving a damn about his business affairs and allowing himself to be robbed. Doesn't matter how pure his heart was or how uber-artistic he was, if you snooze, you lose.

You can sense from his questions that the interviewer is not a musician himself. He keeps on asking about the "symptoms" / "outer appearance" of Schenker's music while the "spirit" / "soul" of Schenker's music originates on another level. Schenker tries to steer the conversation in the right direction but that requires a certain level of abstract thinking that goes beyond the capabilities of the interviewer.

Also must be a mirage when Rudolph moves with the V like Michael already did before him . And he must be lying to about not being pictured and credited in the Box set . Sure he's making all of this up ..

Him and Rudolph need to make peace because they already lost their sister Barbara, life is short, family is forever 🕊️❤️

@@MetalSonicBricksOnly Michael is like that. Why doesn't he talk to Rudolf instead of constantly shooting at his brother from a distance?

@@cumuluscloud3854You don't know their relationship behind the scenes. It's clear you just ignore every claim he makes and chalk it up to drama.

I see now he's back to using Gibson Vs. He's such a great melodic player. Man what a great player. He cracks me up with his accent.. 😂.. to this old American .

Dean can no longer make Vs... after 40 years... Gibson went after them.

@@warmitag I forgot about that. His contract must have expired... as well I'm guessing?
