It was quite unique to see a movie with a male lead, playing a boxer - literally fighting, and being wounded from that - come home to NOT JUST ANOTHER supporting - and nothing else - woman. She had her own storyline, her struggle, her ideas, her opinions, her voice. AND that made the story better and the relationship more believable. It's so different when you watch a film and you know why the lead man fell in love with the love-interest in the first place.

It’s funny how the interviewer thought this was the first time he was playing a dad, when he played a dad in Fruitvale Station, which she brings up in the interview like a minute later.
@rahii6 жыл бұрын
Geekkast Productions Oscar dies in Fruitvale Station. That was the heart of the story. In Creed 2 he’s an existing father. Black Americans don’t get that representation often enough in big movies so it was important for her to ask that in my opinion.
@AfroVibez6 жыл бұрын
Why she said black love? Because it is rarely portray in a positive light on mainstream movies. The stereotype is single parent family or a turbulent one. So for the nuances of that love to be specific to a culture on such a universal movie, it should be applauded and the director commended for his incredible insight rather the preferred oversight...
@RFXmultimedia6 жыл бұрын
not at all, the interviewer should not have even been told to say "black love" like it was non-existent. I'm sick of African-Americans "labeling" what they are supposed to look like in a relationship smh. Its just a film with two black people in love in it. And to say that black love is only shown in that black movie is another versed statement that only a person with an opinion would make. Its like your just talking for no reason.
@dre-p30586 жыл бұрын
It's not a steroytype. Stereotype is something u accuse a certain group of ppl of doing that they or no one else particularly does. When u talk about black love it's not a steroytype. Look at the statistics. Most black women are single moms, least wanted and at the bottom of the foodchain for All men including black men and they are most hated by black men. Why u think ppl like Serena chose to marry and have kids with a white men when she was very vocal about the black cummunity throughout her career
@MrsHarder086 жыл бұрын
The thing I didn't like about that comment was, she knows all of the scrutiny that MBJ gets when it comes to his dating preference. The comment was not needed especially since the follow-on question was not built off of that question. Also, there are numerous amount of "black love," portrayed in a positive light in countless movies. What are you talking about? What movies are yall watching?

Why do people freak out when black people celebrate their culture or use specific terms like "black love"? If you don't understand the significance, either educate yourself on it or let it go and move on, it's not for you. Stop being so insecure and offended.

We not allowed to do nothing! Or have anything and irony is folks feel excluded! Like brahhhhhh! we weren’t included in first place! There would be no reason for us make stuff our own....HBCU’s came about because Blacks folks was not allowed to go to Harvard because hello we Black...and who made that a thing...🤔🤔 Not Black people!! Your ancestors Love.😶.Black love came about because given the history going as far back as slavery we were separated! Our house holds and hello look at the prison industrial complex! One big “separate people of color aka mostly Black people” machine. So we celebrate any form of Black love or togetherness,because it’s significant to show that we love regardless of how society put us down! These labels are affirmations! And they exist because we are worthy! And we have to remember that!! And if your mad go look in the mirror and ask your self why? Why must everything we do gotta include you? That’s that privilege brozay.

@@denisedenisehuxtable4183 thats interesting - what about the film did you dislike so much - personally I loved Ragnarok, I thought the comedic aspect was great, it had the power to take the edge off of intense moments, and led zeppelin was the perfect music too. I also found the character arc of Thor extremely interesting in this film, with the idea of the character being brought down to nothing with the loss of his hammer and the electrical control device then he was trapped on the junk planet - it makes the ending for more interesting when Thor comes to terms with his power and the idea of Ragnarok or the idea that someone else could be more powerful than him - as previously he denies hulk beating him, and believes he is the strongest avenger till at the end when he understands the hela is more powerful etc etc.

Miss Tess is so right. I love how Adonis embodied the intuitiveness of the Black man when he can so easily read your expressions, and just ask what? Their romance and eventually falling in love seemed so real to me. More movies, tv shows, plays, etc, should show us more in that light because Black love is stronger, fun, deep, and playful than it usually shows. Great job.

I gotta say that as a 18 year old black boy I personally get what every body in the comment section is saying when they say there is no such thing as black love only human love and I mean I get it however at the same time black love just simply sounds like what it means two blacks in a relationship and then you could also say there along with black love is white love Hispanic love. Etc so people in the comment section don't let it stop you from getting sleep at night😂🤣
