I'd love it if they revived plans for a movie. Who would play Straker? What would the 🛸 look like? Would the film be called 'UAP'? First requirement keep the purple wigs (even if the men had to wear them?) But that 60's 'dancing'? Some of those men looked older than me!

Rewatching the episode for the umpteenth time here, and still can't get round Foster dreaming a scenario for SHADO in which he isn't present (is that possible?), but worse, he has a fantasy about Straker and a young woman, then cock blocks Straker 😮 Great episode though. At least Foster doesn't 'go native' and kill everyone in his dream

the Italians made I think 4 compilation movies back in the day - here's one - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYPFq5KKic9qbMk - in this video Straker is on the real timeline and Foster passes out in the sauna and imagines his abduction and what SHADO would do to get him back - 🛸✨

This is a weird mashup of several episodes, plus added CGI and digital effects (heresy!). I think this is the episode (The 'Ordeal ' parts anyway) Assistant Director Leo Eaton secretly rewrote before shooting in an attempt to improve it, but he later admitted he made it worse! The ending was certainly a cop-out, but there are still some memorably disturbing moments particularly Fosters drowning and undrowning and the SHADO VTOL craft model work is awesome. I think SHADO actually stands for Smoking Heavily And Drinking Organisation.

What was the music that Commander Straker played in his house? This is a mixture of the episodes Ordeal and The Responsibility Seat. The inside of a UFO is seen in this, and we also see Sky 1 dock with Diver 1. Great video, thank you for uploading this.

Barry Gray who was the series composer would be quite capable of writing a piece like that but it sounds like a late 19th century classical piece to me - possibly a French composer but that's a wild guess on my part - 🛸✨

I am puzzled by a thing: is there any CG here or it was only the high quality of the special effects that made me think that docking of Skydiver was a recently added part?

So, exactly why don't they allow people with liquid in their lungs to hang upside down? Gravity would seem to be your best friend if you had this issue, at least to me. Why not allow it to take the liquid out of you, sort of like when you inhale something heavier than our normal air composition... Like some refrigerants, which, while not really a good for you kinda thing, really doesn't cause you any damage if you just let it out by having your head lower than your chest (as when you pass out and your head lands sideways or face down, it just flows out and you breath in normal. I see this type of thing all the time, and the fluid dynamics are the same for gas as a liquid (only quicker because of less resistance) in these cases, has no one ever just thought it out?
@FandersonUfo4 ай бұрын
since humans will reflexively cough out a lung full of liquid whether they happen to be hanging upside down or not there is very little speed advantage when they are hung upside down - only in the unique case of some one wearing a liquid based breathing helmet would the lungs get drained much faster if you took the trouble to hang them upside down before taking the helmet off - even then the difference in time might be less than a minute compared to upright helmet removal - I agree with your logic and reasoning however the facilities to hang some one upside down when they wind up with a lung full of liquid are not always to hand - 🛸✨

Anyway, a great show, wish there were more. I guess just too much for the type of audience that existed in the early 70's. They didn't really like Star Trek either, or Space 1999. Oh well. I can't comment on how hansome the men are, but I know the females were pretty enticing. That purple hair was kinda nice, and the skimpy costumes they were made to wear didn't hurt anything either. All in all, a very nice show for the eyes at the time as well as some thought process. I don't really understand the physics in the show as they don't match up well with what we know these days, but back then, I'm sure no one notices how they "intercepted" ships going millions of miles per second, or multiples the speed of light, with some very slow chemical rockets that have smoke that flows upwards in a vacuum. No wonder they missed them so much. They really couldn't even see them as radar wouldn't work, the ship would be coming in faster than the radar would bounce back to their transceivers as it would be only going 5x slower than the alien ships in space. So, like the sound of a supersonic plane, you hear the noise AFTER it passes you. Before it does, nothing. You can see it coming because the light (as the radar would too on earth) bouncing off the plane is coming back to you at speeds almost Nine Hundred Thousand (ish) times faster than sound. But if the plane was going the seemingly impossible speed of 1.5 Sol as they say in the show, so 1.5c, or 450,000 KM/sec, you couldn't see it until it past you (and Radar couldn't see it either). And that's if it was "in our universe" for you to see anyway, and not in some weird hyperspace or bubble universe, so it could move faster than causality. But yeah, I did like it. Of course the aliens had fast ships, they couldn't get to our solar system from theirs without something going crazy fast, and they must have some kind of superluminal type of communication as well, as they seem to send back messages to their comrades to send others on their way to earth or it's moon to "gather up parts" for themselves. Oh, and this speed makes SID kinda worthless too. Except when they eventually have to slow down due to I = M x A, even breathing liquid, they can't take too much acceleration on a human type body. I guess they didn't have any gravity control to shield them from the force. But they sure looked like Mr. Data ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6HKc3Z_m6-EabM ) with those crazy contact lens in!!!🤠👍 Plus - The intro Theme is super cool man!
