Poor micheal. He’s had such a hard life. Regardless of what that reporter thinks, he really was a victim of society. He has a lot of problems, but he’s a good person deep down and all everyone ever did was use him. People didn’t treat him like a human being and just saw him as a wallet or a savvy headline. He was dealing with so much..He’s actually a very insecure guy and has a lot of problems. The reason why he drank so much is probably due to the constand anxiety he felt. Fame makes it seem like its you vs the world and the whole world is out to get you. Imagine waking up one day feeling like the whole world knows your name. He genuinely loved his daughter and would have done anything for her. She’s the only person that truly loved him for him no matter what and he knew that. Kids are so innocent and loving. Poor guy. I hope he’s doing better today. That reporter was witty and funny, but very insensitive. Loving your child so much you would do 20 years in prison just to have a week with them, is something that reporter would never understand. He didn’t appreciate the time he had with his kids because he wasn’t in the same situation micheal was in. Where ever micheal is now I hope that he’s better. I heard he got back with his ex wife. She seemed to truly love him since she left when he got rich and came back after he lost everything. Hope everything is going good for them. This worlds too cruel

Mikey Carroll is a classic example of how you might not be ready for the world, but the world is sure as fuck ready for you. When the world saw Mikey they saw two things: 1 an unsophisticated man they could take for a mug, and 2 a punching bag they could take out all their frustrations on. Overnight he became every man who has ever been rude to you at the pub, or threatened you in the street, or cut in line at the kebabby. I don't know Mikey well enough to say if he's an innocent victim or if he deserved it, but that's just the point... I don't know him well enough, and so I should reserve judgement, as should've everyone else.

I think people get annoyed because let’s be honest most of us will only dream of winning that much money. It seems unfair that some work hard and get very little but a drunken lout buys a ticket and wins life changing money.
