I grew up in the 80's in the poppin era, in L. A. Cali., i lived in the time of many street dancers, cause i was one of them. Boogaloo Shrimp & Pop n' Taco, were well known in dance circut, in l.a, but what a lot of people will never know, is that there were so many great street dancers, that were far better than shrimp & taco, like my best friend, who taught me how to pop, his name was kid smooth but mostly known as Lyles. He was so smooth. I went to school my senoir yr., with Taco and use to see him at Radiotron, which was a hip hop dance club for teens in the mid 80's. Shrimp & Taco are dance legends, who to me are underrated. The 80's was a great decade for dancing.

Wasup bro! I am what I am today because you inspired me. I feel you wen you say you tried everything to change your life, Travolta inspired you and in return, you inspired me. As a kid, I watched your moves on movies and tried to work them out:) Breakdance shaped me as a dancer. I won many dance competitions back in Africa then, went on to become a professional dancer and immigrated to Europe, owned my own dance school for sometime and was proud to teach people my styles. Now I only teach and choreograph till this very day here in Finland! Am more than thrilled to see you still kickin' it hard!

Hey Boogaloo Shrimp, thank you for being the pioneer, the legend, the icon of urban dance. The world of dance owes you a great deal. It's a fact that, a lot of artists, entertainers and people of the arts, may not want to admit that, you were their instructor, their professor. So many people across this world, artists, entertainers, whomever it maybe, were able to reach their goal, accomplish their task or perfect whatever they set out to do, just by watching you and studying you, learning you. Thank you for being a gift our life.

I was about 8/9 when I watched the first movie. I was convinced Turbo was a magician doing the broom routine, he mesmerised me. I wore that VHS out! I must have watched it 100s of times, sometimes I would rewind and watch it all over again😂 That movie got me into music, dance, fashion. I remember being at school in the UK showing my mates some popping. It wasn't mainstream at the time and I dont think my mates had seen the movie. They were like what the fuck is this! But in a good way😂 I genuinely believed I was Boogaloo Shrimp popping out moves in the playground. Thanks Michael for having a huge positive impact on my childhood, as Im sure you did with many kids all over the world. Inspirational 👌👍
