Just throwing this out there.. when I got that missile alert that morning, I've never been more terrified in an hour of my whole life. I hugged my kids trying my hardest not to cry the entire time. Literally the entire time, while frantically messaging family members back how much we loved eachother. And trust me, we all wonder why the hell someone was so easily able to click one single wrong button. And then our Governor didn't tell us it was a false alarm because he "couldn't remember his Twitter password." It was a fucked up day.

10+ years ago when I was doing IP Security, every access outside of normal operation required 2 people approval. Hell, a server update required the administrator and manager to agree that it was needed. You wanted access to the core code? You wait until the owner approves it. You couldn't just go in, download and take it. Movies have caught up mostly with actual security. Government lives in the 80's still.

Those taxes come at a cost, look at Kansas, when you pull 1.5 trillion out of taxes that isn't free money. Hope you enjoyed a few hundred bucks when the bridges start collapsing, the schools start closing, police take 4 hours to show up, fires burn themselves out before the fire department arrives... taxes pay for things and since it is obvious this country will never stop over funding the military (the real welfare system) those cuts will come from everything else and by the time people realize the cost it will be too late. But all empires must come to an end, looking back it will not be hard to trace the start of the downfall. Really, it'll be the 1970's, since then CEO pay has gone from 20 times the average worker to over 400 times, that redistribution of wealth and destruction of the middle class is what is ruining this country, this latest tax cut (re: further redistribution of wealth to the top) will just be the final nail in the coffin. Maybe the third to last.
