Jost obviously hit the mark, the truth apparently hurt and I think he was not only funny but seriously funny while definitely delivering a ckear message. He knew he was taking some chances in hitting below the belt a few times creating some groans of disbelief and shame. I loved how he embraced the present state of how everything is upside down but there is still truth in the message making the messanger so very important. Excellent job dude...most excellent. On the contrary. He did not bomb, he shone like a bright light. The truth is what journalism is supposed to embody. He was balanced in his criticism but took the truth to where it is required the most. It was quiet because most in the audience recognized the truth in satire...rather than being duped by opinion based television shows that claim to support journalism when the truth is that their lack of data driven journalism is honestly just propaganda. If you cannot clearly identify the difference then I regret to inform you that you are just not able to think objectively. Again, just an opinion but after I got a handle on his approach I absolutely heard the message. He didn't hide in fear like most he easily revealed, rather he pushed forward to complete on a message that is in my opinion heard by mostly logical and intelligent people. The rest obviously just wont get it...right over their heads. Again, Bravo to Colin Jost.

@@grben9959 How do you expect the government to work when the Republican side doesn't want it to and people like yourself reward them with votes for doing their best to sabotage it? You mention inflation. A big source of that inflation is that the EU kneecapped itself on energy politics by taking a stand against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. That raised demand on non-Russian oil and gas, which raised the price of American oil and gas, and no president, red or blue, has the tools to do anything about that. The MAGA nonsense about drilling more does nothing to fix that problem. You mention the pandemic. How do you reckon Trump handled the pandemic? Because from where I'm sitting, the US casualties per capita were significantly higher than the best in class countries like Norway and Finland. Even common sense precautions were failed utterly. And hundreds of thousands of people died that probably didn't have to. Lastly, the political motivation to bringing Trump's court cases? What are you on about? He's been allowed to drag those out for ages. Ordinary people doing his documents stunt would've been behind bars right away. Ordinary people violating gag orders as much as Trump does would've been held in contempt and compelled to reconsider their behavior from inside a jail cell. I don't know how the RICO case or the Jan 6 case will turn out, but the hush money case looks a bit hard for him to squirm out of, and he looks so DOA in the documents case. He retained classified documents that he had no legal right to retain, he stored them unsecurely, and he has admitted this voluntarily on camera in Fox interviews. An election win or SCOTUS help seems like the only way he's going to avoid conviction in that one.

@@lostagain7292 Perhaps you might study the works of Orwell, each and every one of them thoroughly before you come down with simpleton "both sides" pettifoggery? There were PLENTY more than merely two sides in that room. Yet they still feel compelled to pay homage (even if it's only lip service, or maybe "hand and feet" service with standing applause?) to the concept of decency. Why not try getting off your lazy derriere and waiting in comment threads to throw cheap shots with fragmentary half-thoughts. And you need not quote that New York City real estate conman's fragmentary half-truths to show fake disgust. It only makes you resemble that kind of inanity.
