I have recently brought back an old linear tracking direct drive turntable from the dead. It works well and I have gotten back into analog music. It is far better than digital, I didn't realize just how much I have missed it. Just got Fleetwood Mac Rumors on record and it sounds better than any digital copy I have heard. Glad to see analog making a come back.

The Japanese are the best! Who else would take those classic American jazz records from the 50s and 60s and re-release them on the best vinyl with the original cover photos and liner notes in ENGLISH to preserve the look and feel, with just a removable paper band around it covered with Japanese writing to let the Japanese customer know what he was buying!

Great stuff, Mike! I love my vinyl.. all 6000 of them! Not as many as you have but they're very dear to me. My EX said "get rid of them!" You see who's still around....

There are certain songs that sound best recorded on slut vinyl; just don't have the correct tone on virgin vinyl.

Timmy G. Something tells me you're not British lol. I'm British born and bread and the only Brits I've ever heard talking like that are American... Ze German sounded pretty accurate though.

Well I learned something! And had a laugh. I will make this comment about vinyl: if you start out with a digital recording it's going to sound digital whether it goes on to vinyl or CD. The worst sounding recording I ever owned was an early digital LP of Bernstein conducting Petroushka. It was grating at every volume level. Not that there aren't great digital recordings. But people should remember that vinyl does not always mean analog.

I noticed this just the other day. I bought a British version of Queen 1. Sounded absolutely amazing. Like he said, how to take care of your record on the inner sleeve too. Just the other day I got my US vinyl for Queen 2. Complete opposite. Sounded terrible. All kinds of pops. But even the actual music just sounded really weird. The vocals were harder to hear. The symbols were way too loud. Not much bass. I guess I should be buying more of the British albums. Only problem is it’s like $20 to ship them over here. It sucks

How about those horrible cheapo plastic sleaves that crumple up and are impossible to get back into the outer sleave Mikey? The Japanese corrected this problem by making one side of the plastic inner sleave rounded, much easier that way. Just FYI.
