Michael Gove has said he chose to run for the Conservative Party leadership after deciding "reluctantly but firmly" that Boris Johnson was not capable of uniting the party or the country. "It had to fall to someone else... I felt it had to fall to me," the justice secretary told the BBC. Mr Gove - who was expected to back Boris Johnson's candidacy - said he made his decision on Wednesday evening. Following his surprise announcement, Mr Johnson withdrew from the race.

ClintDuza from what I've read and heard from people Boris was an awful mayor, the mayor of london is of course known to be more of a personality contest then anything (partly his fault). he is gotten this far by selling himself with this "laddish, down to earth, commoner" act of his which seems to really resonate with the voting public (Farage is another example of this). whilst I wouldn't mind getting a pint of beer with him I dread to think how harmful a prime minister he would be, he's a scheming piece of shit.
