Perhaps he wants to say based on the logic of Marx. One does not need to be a Marxist in that case. Also Marx was an epic fail, in terms of not caring or even aware that the human impact on the planet is unsustainable. A horrible scam this form of progress. Hence Marxian Logic or Marxists, still divorced from incoming reality (Climate breakdown and change)
