OMG. I bet he kissed really well. Beautiful man what a loss. Paula Yates was a bad decision. I look at him now so young and he made a permanent decision for a temporary problem. One of the greatest loss is in my opinion. So what did he kiss like in his hair must’ve been amazing to run your fingers through. What a great memory

@elizabethhann40285 жыл бұрын
@Qwerty123 [Written November 17th, 2019]: I've just finished watching the movie all the way through, and I've had the same experience. Watching the movie deepens the song, and makes it sound even more moving and poignant. You know, I found the whole movie rather more poignant than I thought it would be. For all its wild punk rock music, its goofy comic scenes (Who could forget the crazy Chainsaw Man, or Michael's loopy "Microwave Brick!" at the Ballarat All-Night Mini-Mart) and its many longuers (I mean, its many long loose unstructured scenes in which the viewers' interest may threaten to flag), I found the film's prevailing mood to be nostalgia, and nostalgia is nearly always linked to melancholy. If *DOGS IN SPACE* can be said to be "about" anything (besides being just a portrait of a particular place and time and a particular music scene) it's about the folly of youth and how reckless delights have sudden reckless ends, and that's always a melancholy theme. You know, I actually found the final "Rooms For The Memory" sequence of the film to be not just intensely sad but also vaguely creepy: creepy because it's that much sadder in hindsight. Think about it: in *DOGS IN SPACE* , Michael Hutchence plays a character who ends up weeping helplessly over the grave of a woman who died, well before her time, of a drug overdose. Michael himself would go on to become addicted to painkillers and die before his time of suicide. I don't literally believe the film is "prophetic" or "cursed" or anything like that, but still...it's all that much sadder in hindsight. The *really* creepy thing is, in the movie, Saskia Post vaguely resembles Michael Hutchence's real-life partner Paula Yates, who would go on to die of a heroin overdose herself. I just found it all very ghostly and sad. Rooms for the memory...

Elizabeth Hann I was thinking all of the same things after I watched the movie last night...creepy in a sad way for sure!

@@elizabethhann4028 thank you for your comment Elizabeth, I've just read it for the first time even though you replied three years ago... just finished rewatching the movie after 4 years & also thought about the Saskia-Yates connection... Saskia died two years ago due to cardiac arrest which is often a consequence of heroine overdose, sometimes fiction & reality are blurred, tough to easily comprehend causality

Rooms for the Memory - Lyrics Be there, ow! There’s a corner to this room Where there’s nothing left to remember There’s time the clocks on the wall But there’s nothing left to remember A thought or two ligers on In memoriam the plaques on the wall and time stands still Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory There’s time the clocks on the wall But time stands still remember But there’s nothing left at all But time stands still A thought or two lingers on In memoriam the plaques on the wall and time stands still Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory Oh oh, oh oh oh There’s a corner to this room A telephone, a chair, a memory But there’s nothing left to this gloom When time stands still remember A thought or two lingers on In memoriam the plaques on the wall and time stands still Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory Rooms for the memory, rooms for the memory
