@@Carl-bg7er My brother has Parkinsons and was recently put on home hospice care. His doctors have said he likely won't see next year. My brother is only 53 years old. Michael J Fox has my eternal admiration. For nearly 12 years he has been the very public face of a terrible disease. He has let the public see his disease progress. He hasn't done it for admiration or glory. Fox could have taken his money and disappeared from public view. He didn't. Prior to his announcement Parkinsons was thought of in the public mind as an 'old persons disease'. He's changed that and he has brought awareness to millions of people. His life isn't any more important than anyone else's. His fame means he had opportunities to show what this disease does to a person. Something my brother certainly couldn't have done. MJF didn't make the disease about him. He doesn't claim to be a martyr. He took the disease as an opportunity to educate and try to help others. It's a shame that you can't see he's fighting for those millions and the millions more that will be struck with this disease in the years to come.

Met Michael J Fox in the early 2000s at the Parkinson's Unity Walk in Central Park along with my father, who was in a wheelchair because of Parkinson's. Michael was so sweet and kind to us all, but he hugged my father and that meant so much to us. He was in his early 30s, my dad was also diagnosed in his 30s. And my dad lived over 40 years with Parkinson's dying 3.5 year's ago at 75. It's hard to see your father deteriorate slowly through the years. But to have such kindness towards him, thank you Michael. God bless you and your family.

The sad thing in all this is that he has incredibly amassed over 2 billion dollars for Parkinson's research, and all they have to show for it is earlier diagnosis. Now people will know in advance if they are going to get it. But I don't think I'd want to know in advance. If I'm going to get Parkinson's in 10 years and there is nothing anyone can do about it, I don't want to know. Every time I would shake or shiver, I'd think it's Parkinson's starting. This is no fault of Michael's, but I'm just disappointed that more advancement has not been acheived, given the incredible amount of work and success Michael had in raising money.

Love seeing something like this. Way to fight Michael! I’m filled with joy and hope you can still surprise us all. I’ve been fighting for 4+ years after a single vehicular accident that broke my Spine T6-T9, my tibia and my face all requiring hard ware from suffering a seizure. I also sustained multiple other serious injuries. I can barely walk now after relearning how but it bought me all that time. Everyday is a fight with many small battles which I’m sure is no different with you Michael but if we can inspire, it shines light through the darkness and that’s special.
