Does not matter the interviewer. You do not come here to listen to the questions. We listen to what he had to say. To MJ. To his voice. His transparent inner self to realize every single time he open his mouth how calmed, wise and honest he would be and reply. How down to earth, kind and respectful. Values oriented and big hearted he really was. We know who he really was, nothing else matters. I learn something and get inspired by him even years after his passing.

I can't help but look at the "racist" comments below. You have to remember..this was in the 80s. Michael was braking racial barriers. When I was a white teen in the 80s we usually listened to white artists, MTV was all white artists, then came along Michael Jackson and boom it all changed. That is an amazing accomplishment at a time when this was unheard of. So put it into context and really think about the history of it all. Plus, It is NOT racist to point out people's differences. We are different, there are different races - I can't imagine a world where everyone was the same. She's being racial not racist. Racists is the express hate for another race or group.

Murada umm yeah i think she knows that, MTV was forced because of two reasons CBS wanted to play vids and second Micheal was becoming increasingly popular and was having heavy cross over to pop music. His literal popularity which sprung from his massive talent is what broke those barriers. Look at his Bad concert footage, thousands of european women screaming and fainting for MJ, this was new. He was a beautiful spirit.

She conducted a GREAT INTERVIEW. He did not give her mechanical answers as he was known to do. He was comfortable and her questions gave the respectable amount of push. I so enjoyed this. I have to move this up as my favorite Michael interview, even over Oprah, Barbara Walters & Steve Harvey.

Yeah I love this one. Also try the Ebony Jet interview from 1987, I really liked that one too. Btw the Oprah interview was horrible. She was often rude and it was super obvious that her main agenda for that interview was to talk about his appearance and the rumors.

I surely miss this guy. He was so humble. You do not find that kind of humility in most artists of nowadays. This reporter tried to limit Michael as a "black" artist but he went beyond that. Its unfortunate that the role of Peter Pan went to Robin Williams. It would have been nice to see him play the role of Peter Pan but certain things were not meant to be I guess.

When he said he would be on stage at the age of 60 I cried ... I really miss Michael and I feel so sad thinking that some people didn't understand him ... He was a Genius. People are jealous by those who are better than them. People are scared by those who are 'different' from them. Instead I think that being different (in a positive way) is something special. And Michael is the most evident example of this. He inspires me and I'm so thankful to him ... I know that this is excatly what he wanted to do with his work❤

When Michael was asked if he wanted to say anything to his fans …I knew what it would be and it was. “ Thank you and I love you” . That young man had a heart of gold and a humble spirit like I’ve NEVER seen before. Getting to know more about Michael apart from the harsh media portrayal has inspired me to be a more loving and compassionate person in my own life. So thank YOU Michael, thank you for loving us and showing love through your life’s example.

He’s 24 years old at this point in his Career. And he’s the most famous and successful entertainer that has ever been. And he sounds so pure and humble . Creativity in its most purist and beautiful form. Then Evan Chandler, lit the fuse to infect MJ with poison that was in curable. This recording says so much about what Michael Jackson wanted out of life. Then 16 years later for me the saddest day I knew. R.I.P Michael Jackson.

Well, here Michael doesn't really regret about not having his childhood. He did have it, indeed. It was only later when people started wondering why he was still this childlike that he started to justify his actions. But in all honesty, he never needed to. Being like this, this child prodigy, this childlike icon and this musical genius was just his character, a part of who he was, and his childhood had little to do with him being like this.
@NorthernGirl858 жыл бұрын
I took that into account, you know, the fact that this was before the truth was told. I personally believe he would have remained a child at heart no matter what. First of all, it seems like every Jackson kid got beaten by Joe, but somehow no one made it to the top like he did and yet everybody turned out fine. I doubt even Janet would have been that successful if she didn't have Michael as her brother. Now, that means that Michael took it worst of all, even though he said that Jackie and Marlon got it way worse. Michael was way too sensitive because he was a genius, simple as that. Then again, we all know little Mozart was abused by his father, but somehow he never wanted to build neverlands. It has to do with personality. In my mind, Michael simply never got over what Joe did to him on a personal level, but not because he was revengeful, he was to always be this eternal child. Just because he was a genius. Just the way his mind functioned. Period.

He was murdered because he was unstoppable and unbreakable. The envy over him was too much and glaring. God has reward Michael Jackson with eternal rest in heaven. Am happy his place here on earth can never be irreplaceable. He is king of music, pop, disco, R&B ,all kinds of hit sounds, Michael Jackson is the king! THIS is how u interview a celebrity. Barbara Walters and Oprah should take lessons! The true MJ fans care about his MUSIC not bull crap. He kind of ate his words on the whole “ not losing anything in his childhood” cuz years later he went on and on bout his childhood being “taken from him”. This interview clearly shows why he was the best cuz he’s always searching for the new sound, the new dance step, the next thing. He busted his butt to achieve what he did. He earned it! RIP brotha. NO ONE will ever reach your heights. Thank u 4 Sharin your talent with the world.

I'm a black woman, and I don't find this interview one bit racist. There are so many black artists who say that their music is for their people and it's a certain kind of music. You especially hear this among rap and hip hop artists, and some R&B artists as well. To me it sounds like the interviewer is just trying to get Michael's take on his own music and style. Asking questions about race doesn't make you a racist, it makes you curious. She said nothing derogatory, and she wan't trying to provoke Michael to defend himself. And perhaps she really wanted Michael to stress to the listening audience that his music is for everyone, which is a beautiful thing.

At that time while giving this interview did he ever thought his life farther going to change so much? He never thought a huge storm was waiting ahead in the form of nasty media and tabloids to cut him into pieces and destroy him. Michael Jackson for me will always be remembered as one of the most humble, honest, kindess human being. He cared for animals, children, sick and poor people. Which celebrity today care about all these as much Michael Jackson did? Still people judge him, suspect him which is a huge shame!
