Contour is such an overlooked form of makeup artistry that people don't realize that it can make the face look like it's been given plastic surgery. I know MJ had plastic surgery but sometimes the drastic changes were due to the contour which really alters the look.

what people don't realize is that one of the only treatments for vitiligo is to use a lightening cream with hydroquinone on the darker areas to help makeup blend better. if you watch the 1989 release of moonwalker vhs -which had speed demon, come together, the full version of smooth criminal, a kid version of BAD, it opens with music and me showing some round open containers of cream makeup*weve been together for such a long time, now music, music and me. don't care whether our songs rhyme, music, now music and me.*, rockin robin n a J5medley, and when he does man in the mirror it was at the end of his set and his makeup sweated off to reveal his grey skin underneath . bottom line is he did somewhat bleach his skin but not because he didn't want to be black... it was to treat the vitiligo and was prescribed by a doctor. the white glove at Motown 25 came from him finding the first spots on his hand, and used it to cover up the spots. if you know anything about vitiligo than you know that skin lightening the darker areas was the most common therapy option for a long time and is still used in some cases ...

I think he wasn't afraid to show his tender side, or his satiny sequin glamourous side, and that got some people confused. I don't think he'd have anything against anything like that but in a way he's almost old fashioned. Like, fedoras 'n' loafers and other stuff like that. I guess the word is like "gentleman" or something like that. People criticized his speaking voice too as feminine or too much like a little kid but like 1. that's totally nobody's business and 2. that's how he kept it trained to hit the high notes according to a Teddy Riley interview

Most everyone has things they want to change considering their own appearance... Michael was human and had the same insecurities that we all do, he just had the money to change what he considered imperfections..Now when we are talking about his numerous nose jobs, I think we can all agree he went too far! But before he had his first nose job , He was teased about the size of his nose and obviously it bothered him, so he had it reduced..Now in my opinion after the first one it looked much better and even the second one still looked good..After that he continued to reduce the size and shape and from what I understand he actually had to have a few just to fix the damage it started to cause( not sure if that's true).. Michael's Mother Katherine even went to his Plastic surgeon to ask him to stop doing theses procedures for him, or if MJ still insisted on another to put him under sedation and pretend that he did something!!!...But that didn't work, for many reasons 1 being he'd of just went to someone else and 2 the money was more important to the surgeon!!!..The only other thing I wish he'd of not gotten done was the cleft on his chin, because as he aged he lost weight in his face and it ended up looking really deep!! Again this is just my opinion and he had his reasons for doing whatever he thought would improve his looks...That being said I think he was beautiful inside and out!! I wish that the conversation wasn't always about his appearance..it should of been about the music and the genius that he was!! ✌️❤️

Great video but I wanted more info on what the lupus was doing to him. The severe butterfly rash, etc he was dealing with in the mid to late 80s.

Discovered your channel this week. Loving the points of view and facts you give. It's honest, yet supportive. Also, the narrator's voice is almost reassuring! You didn't do previous work for Disney VHS did you?? :D

He went through hell having to look good 24 hours and to perform before millions with a bespeckled face and hair loss. Despite this, he ruled pop music for decades over the globe and still does. I'm glad he could resort to make-up, otherwise he would have never come on stage and performed and that would be a tragic loss for the whole world. World history would not be as beautiful without Michael Jackson.

Michael was already beautiful before surgeries and makeup. It's sad he couldn't see it.

But let’s be real, he got ultra beautiful after the first few surgeries :p before he was a good looking normal guy, but during thriller and bad he turned into a goddess

Just think for a second,if we're going to a party or to any ceremony, even just go out from our house,we apply little bit of touch-up,though we don't have any skin related problems like him. Why we do this? To look good, presentable. It gives us confidence or sometimes we like to wear make up. But he was a public figure,so famous that everyone wants a glimpse of him, ready to take a snap. In this situation if you have any skin disorder or any imperfection, you'll definitely want to correct it. So,just respect the decision of your loved ones,if you really love and respect them....😊

no one's making fun of him for wearing makeup, it's for 'how' he wore it, it's for his fetish for weird looks

As a makeup artist of 16 years, I'd love if Karen wrote a book! I know she likely never will, as she's fiercely loyal to MJ. It's a double edged sword - I'm dying to know her artistry secrets, yet a big part of why i love her is that loyalty she has to him!

At the time of HISTORY, Michael was in his 30s and everything was cool. He was always abused by the media, but he was a genius artist with a modern sensibility. stranger in Moscow video is the coolest.
