HIStory always stood out as an unusual album to me. It's the only record I know of that's both a best hits and completely new studio album in one. While previous albums were very distinct in their flavour, HIStory was a mish-mash of different genres and significantly less pop than the likes of thriller and bad; HIStory songs are seldom played on the radio and most people only remember his 80's hits. Yet in fan communities, HIStory seems to be one of the most beloved of his albums and I believe it was because the album was made for them; HIStory was by far his most personal and lyrically intensive album. While it may fly over the heads of casual pop listeners, for devout fans, HIStory is a window into the mind of Michael Jackson, his fears and his frustrations. The album wasn't about making money (but of course it did), it was about telling a story. His story.

HIStory is certainly interesting, but I do think the material itself is far weaker than on his previous albums. Tonally, it's a bit of a mess. By the time it came out in '95 the new jack swing influences were starting to feel dated. But there are some genuine jewels on HIStory that easily stand the test of time. Stranger in Moscow in particular is incredibly haunting. Tabloid Junkie has far more bite than Invincible's Privacy. And They Don't Care About Us is still a banger in some clubs.

MJ has so many underrated songs that should have been hits. I’m telling you one day we should do a streaming party of all his underrated songs that need recognition. The MJ fandom is huge, and we can get all of his songs in top 100 if we wanted to. Although he did pass away, we need to expose some of the songs to people around the world, just to show that he talked about real things that happen in the world and express how he felt on many things that was happening to him. and the fact that almost all of his songs that he made are still relevant to what happens in the world today is amazing. We have so many platforms that we can get many people to participate in a steaming party but sadly that probably won’t happen.

"You say it's not a sin, but with your pen you torture man" ... The lyrics describe how much Michael Jackson suffered,you can hear the pain in his voice..... One of my favorite tracks from this compilation (HIStory) .....R.I.P King Of Pop
@smoothannie60784 жыл бұрын
You know, this is one of the many reasons I love Michael Jackson. He spits straight facts and he wasn't afraid of who would hear it. His music just hits me on a whole other level than anyone else, especially most modern day singers. I think this is my favorite song of his. I'm just so sick of songs that only talk of sex, money, drugs, girls, excessive vulgar language, and "who's the best" selfish crap. The music may have better quality than his (not by much bc a lot of MJ's music sounds ahead of his time, what a legend!) , but they just have the worst messages. Even MJ's more sexual songs weren't vulgar, pure passion and emotion. Plus everything freaking sounds the same. No one has any creativity anymore. MJ always changed it up and I love that too. I wish he was still here tbh, I feel music wouldn't be as bad as it is with him here. I would have loved to see him do collabs. But instead, people want to cancel him over something he didn't even do. What about other singers who actually are pedophiles and still roaming free (6ix9ine, and his music is pure garbage, terrible messages) and no one even cares!! Sorry, but MJ ain't going anywhere. People need to wake up and realize they're being lied to. #MJINNOCENT

The music today is like that because that’s what the industry wants to push out sex, drugs, jewelry, and killing people aka (violence), they don’t want Michael because he was changing the world and he was a black artist who had broke all types of barriers he wanted people to come together as one, they want to divide and conquer just like people in government.

for me the important message, the dangerous information, its in those parts when you cant hear him properly, so you just dont pay that much of attention to those parts and you only notice the lyrics in the chorus and the ones he sang clearer, but he is giving very important info in the other parts. I believe he did it on purpose so he could sneak messages for those who payed attention without making a fuss

Rudolf Lánský "Speculate to break the one you hate, circulate the lie you confiscate, assasinate and mutilate as the haunting media in hysteria. Who's the next for you to resurrect? JFK exposed the CIA, truth be told, the grassy noll as the blackmail story in all your glory. this is also so important after his death. he always knew. "In the hood, frame him if you could, shoot to kill, to blame him if you will. if he dies symphatizes, such false witnesses (..) " in the end, they blame him for his death and they symphatized when he died, but when he was alive they destroyed him. also false witnesses. who really knows the truth about his death today? in the black, stab me in the back, in the face, to lie and shame the race, ( meaning black people as him and how they lied to make the black people look bad) heroine and marilyn ( meaning its a lie and that they assasinated her,just like JFK) as the headlines stories in all your glory

I always was aware of Michael Jackson from when I was a little boy, having seen his "Leave Me Alone" video back then. When I was in high school, the new allegations were made and a TV special was aired that chronicled Michael Jackson's decades-long battle with the fake news. Only then did that video, as did this song, make sense to me.
