Great reaction. You got to imagine just how much he impacted the world. He appealed to all ages, classes, races, it's amazing. If you look at him visting countries he was welcomed like the head of state. To say he shook the world is an understatement

Yup. I remember the 80s clearly .and not ONE PERSON would mention race. There was practically NO racism in america. People just got along. Today? The media and govt has brainwashed millions. Sad that the 80s will never comeback

Michael was a genius to have Vincent Price (the king of 40s-60s horror movies) narrate this. House of Wax was a classic and Michael had it displayed on the theater billboard in the beginning of the video.

love when ppl pick up on details like that AND when they also remember, recognize AND give due credit to the other LEGENDARY players that made Thriller what it STILL is today: Mr. Vincent Price, Mr. Quincy Jones AND choreographer Michael PETERS (who also choreographed MJ's 'Beat It' video, playing the part of rival gang leader in the white leather outfit.....not to mention COUNTLESS other projects & videos!) ~ b.

@19:56 - "that look like trump a little bit..." -- i think many folks don't realize that that very last zombie they show (on the screen right when you said that) -- that's not MJJ. it's actually the INCOMPARABLE MR. VINCENT PRICE (the man who does the narration/spoken-sequence -- "darkness falls across the land. the midnight hour is close at hand..." -- AND the famous laugh at the end of the song when it plays on the radio/album/cd). michael included him in the video as well, fully made up as a zombie, lol. ~ b.

i’m so glad you’re doing michael! 🫶🏼It’s insane to be able to revisit his music as an adult w the perspective of being able to know his whole life & career as a whole due to his passing and it’s just so legendary. Nothing could ever compare to this impact bc his music was just perfection and so needed in the world.

The video came out when I was 5! I was obsessed with Michael Jackson. I grew up in Ireland and we had a weekly music show called mtusa. The premier was announced but my step dad said I was too young and might be scared. My mam managed to arrange for me ro watch it at a neighbours house. I still remember loving it...and I wasn't scared. I loved MJ. It's still etched in my memory 40 years later , I still love it. 😅

Great reaction! Still gives the feels, doesn't it? Michael and director John Landis ("Blues Brothers", "Animal House" among many) made this first "mini movie" video and changed music videos forever. If you can find it, "The Making Of....." extra, on the original copy, gives an fascinating look into how this one came together, and an even greater appreciation for the unique creative talent that was Michael Jackson. And yeah, we all learned the dance! How we will always miss him.

1:37 it’s the way they originally filmed it made it easy to put it in 4K. 2:13 it’s because he was Jehovah’s Witness at the time so he had to put that on it. He ended up leaving the church when they started telling him he needed to change his performance style and what he sang. He wasn’t going to let them stifle his gift.

Gotta agree with your take on music nowadays. The "Cookie Monster," growling sounding vocal style in Metal, Pop music that's been auto-tuned to death, and now we music fans have been cursed with all this absolutely horrid, talentless, "Mumble-Crap" (er, "Mumble-Rap" I mean) liquid SHT-SPEW. Every now and then, you'll catch a good beat within all the piles of musical defecation (sht) littering everywhere that the genre has produced thus far, but it's very rare...I hope anyway.
