Part 24: • Michael Jai White: Tys...
Part 1: • Michael Jai White: I W...
--------
In this clip, DJ Vlad refers Michael Jai White to an interview clip with Isaiah Washington, where the actor claimed that he was the only reason why Michael didn't hurt Steven Seagal during the making of their film. To that, Michael Jai White lays out the events leading up to a planned fight scene between him and the iconic action film star in "Exit Wounds." He goes on to explain that the makers of their film wanted to see him hurt Segal because he had a reputation for injuring stunt doubles. Later, he tells Dj Vlad the story about how Jean-Claude Van Damme got beaten up by his own security guard, Chuck Zito.

He also bragged about being able to beat Bruce Lee a man whose been dead for over 30 years and can’t defend his position! A legendary Icon who revolutionized martial art and still the most talked about person in martial arts history! I used to like and respect him somewhat, but when said something that disrespectful, stupid, and arrogant about a man who accomplished more than in 32 year than Michael would in three life times! So fuck Michael’s perspective on things his trivial accomplishments compared to Bruce Lee’s, Michael’s lack of contributions to martial arts as a whole and anything else that comes out of his mouth!

It's because Steven Seagal is difficult to work with and hurts stunt guys on purpose. Steven has been known to not follow director's decisions and clash with them on anything that Steven perceives will make him look weak. Multiple stunt men have also gone on record and said that Seagal would hurt them on purpose, knowing that they couldn't hurt him back since stunt guys are considered expendable. Seagal is a well known scumbag both in and out of Hollywood.

I have always liked Michael Jai White. I think he was amazing in "Black Dynamite" and showed a comedic side to himself that we'd never seen before. The fact that he took the high road, and seems pretty much like that is the cloth he's cut from, is a testament to his upbringing and his parents deserve some of the credit for raising a good guy. Also, it shows that he had great martial arts instructors who taught him that the power he had was not to be used for wrong.

Good on him for being above that. At some point, wannabe tough guys like Steven Seagal elicit more pity than anger or humor, at least if you interact with them personally. A former "friend" of mine was like this, trying his hardest to front as a badass when all he ever did was talk a bunch of smack on people when he thought they were out of earshot, then folding when the rubber met the road. I had enough misplaced faith that one day he'd grow up, but he never did. Some people's egos are so massive that they become utterly detached from reality. They're like retarded robots doomed to repeat an errant line of code for eternity.

Interesting because Chuck zico himself told that story differently on Stern back in the 90s. He said Van Damme disrespected him verbally, they went back and forth, Van Damme started to get out of his chair as if he were ready to fight, then Chuck punched him/pummeled him before he got up and it got broken up. He specifically said he didn't want to let Van Damme get up because he didn't want to give him a chance to use his legs/kick. He never mentioned Van Damme taking a swing. That seems far-fetched imo. Zito is like 20-30 pounds bigger, a legit boxer/fighter and well known as a guy you don't want to mess with. I assume Van Damme was drunk/high. Chuck made it clear he respected Jean Claude's kicks and kind of made himself look a little bad by admitting he beat him up before he could get out of his chair, and I don't see Chuck BSing about anything.

Of course he didn't. If he had beat up Seagal whether they wanted him to do it or not, he's at fault... not them. It probably would've been the studio that called the law, so I seriously doubt any producer would shoulder the blame when they could just leave it on him.🤦🏽‍♂️

This tells a very straight up story about ego, fear, respect and danger. The people that are the most dangerous are usually the ones that aren't the ones you see or hear about everyday. They are your trashmen, your teacher or personal trainer. It's not the drunk guy at the bar, the pimp with 50 hoes with black eyes, jailbird with murder all over his record, or the chick that has a history of destroying her exes property. Showmanship doesn't equal ability. It just equal lack of discipline and riskiness.
@iorekby
@iorekby Жыл бұрын
Disagree. Skill does not equal danger. Someone with criminal convictions for unprovoked violent assault is more dangerous than a random karate black belt. Danger has to do with lack of inhibition, unpredictability and predatory instincts. Could that black belt in karate mop the floor with the violent criminal in a karate tournament or even a fair one on one fight? Yes and probably. But who is like to bash your head in with a bottle in a bar while you are minding your own business? Its not the karate black belt. Emotionally stable with skills in fighting aren't a risk for unprovoked assault. Violent criminals with neuro-disorders are. I get people like to romanticise martial arts sometimes, but it's not people going to dojos that you generally need to worry about.

Man this dude is a true martial artist. He’s seems to be very disciplined especially in these interviews where they try to bait someone into saying something based on what someone else said. He was tactful and know it would always be a mistake to talk shit in the situation because it would a disadvantage for him.

saying Chuck Zito beat up Van Damme is a bit of a stretch. The story goes he sucker punched Van Damme while he was sitting in a chair putting his glasses on in a club. Then after his chair went backwards he jumped on top of him until security separated them. It wasn't no even fade. Van Damme on the other hand did want to beat up Steven Seagal tho in a straight up fight at Sylvester Stallone house. Seagal ducked the fade.

It wasn't a sucker punch they were face to face talking shit to each other and he hit him twice and he was not sitting🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ who told you that lol. They have at least 5 or 6 witness accounts that say the same thing even Micky Rouke said he beat up Van Damme. After he fell he beat him some more.

I really respect Michael Jai White for his stance against committing violence against someone who isn't really a fighter and wouldn't be expecting to be getting hurt. He's a true martial artist setting good examples for others to follow. I believe that Michael Jai White is a talented fighter and he's aware of his talents. Therefore he doesn't have to prove it. Or rather, he's already demonstrated his elite skills over the years that there can be no doubt.

Actor u mean that maybe able to fight cus he spar professional fighters but altho he got talent he not fighter so I don't understand this statement not saying he can't fight sure he will smoke a average to above average man cus he do.got.knowledge but still to be seen if he can fight an actual fighter who study there craft and actually put it to use in actual fights than movie fight I kno he did karate tournament but there not the same as actual MMA or kick boxing tournament
