Bulls Knicks were the games I HAD to watch, MJ is my GOAT, and I also really liked watching Ewing and Starks play they were REALLY good but no one could hang with MJ he just simply was the best player to ever exist.

These opening mattes to each game are legendary! This was the real NBA when games meant everything. Winning was the ultimate prize, not your contract. Players took pride in winning and weren’t best butt-buddies with one another. They actually competed on a nightly basis and played all 82 games! No robbing the fans or half-ass play, all-or-nothing mentality! The NBA will NEVER get back to this level of excellence, and in my humble opinion, the NBA is already one foot in the grave. It’s purely money driven now and competition is a secondary concern. This was the era that the NBA was realistically bigger in popularity than the NFL and all other major leagues, and it was all because of that man right there! The GOAT!

Marv Albert says the Knicks never won in the United Center, including the 1994 playoffs. The 94 playoffs were played at the Madhouse on Madison.

The Knicks beat the Bulls in G7 of the 1994 NBA Playoffs not in 100% because MJ has retired from the sport. 2y later, the Bulls gave the Knicks the payback that they expected.

+Mike Labonte Sadly kids only watch highlights of players these days and have no clue what to really expect when most highlights of players are practically 'lowlights' of defense. They also think 3 pointers are cool because they increase your points per possession even if you're below the league average in 3 point FG% just look at Kobe Bryant for a prime example. Kids can't see that creating more defensive rebounds for your opponents actually make it more difficult for you to control the game because even the best 3 point shooter miss more often than making them and by missing more than you making them, you are increasing defensive rebounds for your opponents simply by excluding yourself 99% of the time from getting offensive rebound because you are the furthest from the basket and you're still landing from your jumpshot hence the defense will always have way better odds in getting the boards. And more defensive rebounds also mean more fast-break opportunities. Also you can't get your opponents into foul trouble by settling for jumpshots, maybe an idiot will foul the jumpshooter or be 1mm away from touching him and getting blown for a 'foul' once in a blue moon but yeah that's why till today no team in the NBA will ever shoot more 3s than 2s in a legit competition because that's the game of basketball. You can lose a game just because the other team makes one more basket than your team. Points per possession increment is welcomed but not at the expense at other facets of the game. It's a totally different game now. Most players have no choice but to attempt more 3 point shots because they can't score efficiently inside the arc on a consistent basis because it's just not in their game. A player as talented as Kobe Bryant is more than happy to settle for jumpshots with limited teamwork and player movement involved in the half-court set and he has proven you can bring your points per possession up near MJ's level as long as you shoot enough threes even if you shoot it at a percentage slightly below the league's average. He is not gonna dominate and control the game like MJ because it's just humanly impossible but what he can do is get as much points per game and points total he can, he can increase them simply by increasing his points per possession through increasing his 3 point attempts. As long as he is not nearly as dismal at shooting threes than some centers, it's the best way for him to improve his stats. Less talented players definitely want to climb the ladder and increase their paycheck, so they will be more inclined to do this. Why do you think flopping has become more and more common in the NBA? Pride isn't important as having better stats and getting paid more.

No comparison, I like the rules & style of game better in the old NBA. These are warriors, half these guys look like football players. Watching grown men battle is way more entertaining then 40 three pointers a game with no contact & little defense.

tzvika y - no he wasn't. First, he was just superhuman in his prime which made him seem less athletic during his return. And he played smarter as an older player. He never tried to use speed and strength and athleticism -as his primary weapons - he used fundamentals and skills. But when he needed to, he was still incredibly strong and fast.

MJ was the smartest most versatile player ever. He knew how to change up his game and still be effective as he got older. Which explains why he never tore his Achilles or hurt himself trying the same athletic stuff he did when he was younger (like Derrick Rose, Kobe and etc). Joe Dumas said Michael was harder to guard in his older years because he was eons smarter and had more weapons at his disposal. When he was younger, he was trying to figure things out, when he got older, he just knew!
