More great highlights from rookie Michael Jordan. MJ matches his (then) equal career-high of 45 points, whilst throwing down an array of super dunks.

Jordan doesn't need fancy dribbling, he is so effective cause he is extremely quick, one step and he is gone.

What a lot of youngsters don't know is Jordan had a great midrange jumper as a college player. He didn't learn how to shoot later in his career. He already knew how to.
@CL-vx9dr
@CL-vx9dr 2 жыл бұрын
Why do you think young people don't know that? The midrange game was hugely important at the time, and would be for another 25 years or so. Of course people know he was a great midrange shooter from the beginning of his career.

Jordan is the greatest of all time, but basketball evolves with the time. Certain things are worse now, others are better. The overall talent level in the NBA is incomparable with the 80's. The average NBA player is significantly better than the average player back then.

This was Jordan's rookie year and second 40 point game and this destroys the false narrative and misinformation that Jordan didn't have a jump shot in the 80s like I keep seeing people say all the time which is BS!! Lol When he wanted to, he could make it rain all day from the perimeter with jump shots but his first step was so quick during these years mixed with his leaping ability, he didn't need to shoot fadeaway's as much as he did when he got older. He could still do it if he wanted to, when he wanted to but he didn't need to. Lol The reality is, when you lose speed and your legs slow down, you have to make adjustments and that's where fundamentals and technique come into play because if you try perform like you did when you had youth, your body will eventually burn out.

Agreed. I’m not sure how that ridiculous conjecture came to formation and was then propagated throughout social media, but Jordan was a fine shooter since his days at UNC. It’s tiring to hear people constantly regurgitate the same unfounded claims regarding his abilities when they didn’t and don’t take the time to actually watch full games of his.

One thing about basketball back then the dunks they did in the slam dunk contest they would do in the game,by themselves,on someone,on the other team when they played basketball it was all about the money it was alot about the love of the game,love of competition,the love of BASKETBALL they all played to win every game

During the 1984-85 NBA season I was rooting for rookie Akeem Olajuwon (1st pick overall in the 1984 NBA draft) to win the Rookie of the Year award, but rookie Michael Jordan was lightning teams up every night. Olajuwon's 20 ppg and 10 rpg wasn't enough to win the award. MJ had a rookie average of 28 ppg, which earned him the 1984-85 NBA Rookie of the Year award🏆. Some basketball fans believed that the 1984-85 NBA season should've had a co-Rookie of the Year in The Dream and Air Jordan.

To me the bulls had a nice squad in 84 I'm looking at a game where they're playing and they're doing very well you know in unison together I don't know if it's how the league was playing back in the day it was very intimidating it was very aggressive most of the players probably didn't want to get into no contact and get hurt but I'm looking at the squad that he got it's pretty decent squad it reminds me of his 91 bulls

Few things going on here. Jordan still had hair up into 86/7. This was the BULLS' last season with the cursive CHICAGO script on the road red unis. THE last season(84/5)that the Chicago Stadium center court jump circle would any "BULLS EYE"! on its flooring. The next season(85/6) the BULL HEAD LOGO would be there until this present day. 2021.also... the all red basket stanchion would be white until the present day. 2022.

@@SECRETARIATguy224really? I don't think so... I mean there were games in 90 he didn't shave it real close so you'd see his Norwood 7 hairline, but IIRC the slick bald look kicked off in full steam right before 1989 playoffs
