Those end stats were crazy. How many players in NBA history have in their entire career had a 45+ point game, a 5 block game, a 15 rebound game, a 6 steal game, and a 15 assist game? Maybe 10? And Jordan did it in his first 50 games! Before he started to pace himself on defense he was a beast, best ever weakside cover defender surely

The thing with Jordan was he had no weakness. There were probably quite a few superstars as good as Jordan in maybe one category but no one was even close with everything and that includes LeBron. Many people that played with Jordan claim that if he played in todays game the way it's played now he would average 50. It's hard to say what LeBron would do in Michele's era but chances are he wouldn't have near the success he has now.

The BULLS just lost 3-0 to the CELTICS in 1981. Jordan was uh freshman at UNC. THE SHOT! didn't happen until early 1982. Jordan could've left UNC THEN! He had NUTHIN! to prove. Helped UNC get uh national for the 1st time in 25YEARS! Since 1957. So, the DUMB BULLS!, after LOSING! to Boston in 1981, let the players get traded, most went to San Antonio, got nuthin in return, except to get uh HIGH DRAFT PICK: 3YEARS LATER! in 1984. That high draft pick turned out to be: MICHAEL JORDAN.

I'm a born and raised Chicagoan who saw Jordan from his rookie season on. I remember when in the summer they had summer league games where great pros, college, and high school players would team up and just put on a show for people for free. Jordan was at a LOT of those games. And he always played just as hard then. He put on a show at those games. There were plenty of 60 point-plus performances then. I really enjoyed your statistical matchup analysis with you using only 50 0f Jordan's rookie season stats compared to the full 82 game MVP seasons of players from 2009 to 2021. To me, it just further illustrates what I already know....Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the greatest player of the past 50 years at the very least. In my opinion, he's the greatest of all time.

No, it wasn't that no one would give him the ball. IT called it because Jordan had showed up wearing Nike instead of his team warmups. IT was jealous of MJ his whole career because Jordan got more love than IT in Chicago. It was all ego and pettiness. The gratifying thing about this video is watching Jordan toy with Thomas. Has the other teams best players on there heels back pedaling. Gets players in foul trouble attacking. He was such a complete player offensively and defensively. My team has to win all the time attitude. Then improves with an unstoppable fade away jump shot.

You no I'd forgot how good Jordan was posting up. You know we had a guy at Tennessee, Dale Ellis, he played down low n college, had great post moves for a 6'7" guy, had to play Ralph Sampson 2yrs n a row in the NCAA tournament and went on to b one of the best 3point shooters n NBA history. Guys back then that we're good players took pride n being able to play we're ever they had too to b able to help their team. You know Jordan could post you up or blow by u it didn't matter

Julius Erving rarely gives Jordan the respect he deserves. I'm not a huge Jordan fan but he was clearly better than Erving!

In all fairness, Dr J was taller, had big hands too, and didn’t get to play in the NBA as a young man into his physical prime Jordan was beautiful for watch before he reached his Peak skillset. Dr J and the 70s guys were really just mad Jordan succeeded faster than them WITHOUT the same obstacles
@ericjordan60592 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbonhomme3219 ... Doc was a forward, didn't have the perimeter game, shooting ability, ball handling skills, or defensive prowess. He wasn't even there offensively. Doc, Robertson, Kareem, Iceman, and a few others didn't like Jordan, and still don't. They will speak favorably about today's players to tryn minimize Jordan and the 90s, like he only played in the 90s.

Exactly, he was talking about how concerned he was with Orlando Woodridge and basically totaling brush MJ off like he wasn't even playing in the game. I loved Julius Erving but he couldn't handle the idea that Michael Jordan was revolutionimg the NBA and taking it to a much higher global level than he did. Btw, Orlando Woodridge was never the same after he got traded from Chicago.

Yo I love Dr. J but that was a total dick move on his part, sad because MJ styles his game after the Dr.

Mike was so quick back then. He could go left or right and that lil dancing stutter step he does at full speed is gorgeous. On defense he was always on the prowl, he could wander off his man and still lock them up no problem. What I would pay to have all his games in todays hi def tv. His jump shot was still a lil shaky but you could just see the leap of talent over other players.
@Jim_L2 жыл бұрын
Yes; I agree. And not just quick, but he seemed so "light," too. He moved so light, like a feather, like he just sort of floats around the court and through the lane. As if gravity is not affecting him like everyone else.

He moved like a panther or something, totally unique

You forgot to mention that MJ played in the Olympics right before his rookie season, to get the Olympic team prepared to play Pro’s from other countries they had them scrimmage the NBA Allstar team (8 TIMES!) - Jordan with other college players DESTROYED them IN ALL 8 GAMES! Jordan went 8-0 vs Isiah & the NBA Allstars.. That’s what really set the tone for the freezeout

Young kids reality check: most of us "old heads" watched MJ wipe the floor with our teams for a decade. We also watch nba today an see the same Lebron you see. Some of us are fans of teams today. But there is a reason we almost universally see this comparison as rediculous. Media driven narratives were not in your face in the 90s like they are today. We drew our conclusions from what we saw rather than what we heard. The eye test works. The era was more physical, more competitive, more defense focused.

"It became personal for me." The other team might as well just pack up their shit and go home, cuz ain't no way in hell they're winning a game where Jordan walks into the arena with that mindset that he was disrespected, and needs to set things straight with the doubters. No. Way. In. Hell.

It's really ashamed and sad that allot of so-called professional players (be it) basketball, baseball, hockey, or football etc...call themselves a so-called brotherhood! While at the same time can (themselves) have their own names in lights for a portion of their playing days-but can become completely envious and jealous of another man's talents and abilities (Nature Of Man) for no reason whatsoever! In the case of Jordan he just wanted to come into the league and dominant (not) to get into any controversy because he was raised better than that! So, in a sense he did remain humble when he first came into the league! However, once he got wind to how many veterans, players, teammates, coaches, and media was hatin on him--it fueled him evenmore to become great, and to achieve the level of greatness he worked so hard for! So, in a sense they woke up a lil country boy (no offense) that they forgot was born in Brooklyn! Zeke is a lil westside punk hater! Thanks M.J. for ballin' out the (right way)!
