I love watching Jordan play in the 80s, particularly before Pippen was drafted, because it was ALL Jordan without the tactics involved in real team play...and his athletic ability in his early twenties has been unparalleled to this day. His '86-'87 season was a 1 on 5 matchup every game. No one comes close.

***** he took average players and gave them known names like Scottie PIPPEN . You would have never heard of PIPPEN if it wasn't for MJ! Plus he gave them 6 titles, so what you mean he didn't make them better? That just show you how garbage he team was and how good MJ was.
@1CHOZN79 жыл бұрын
***** its funny when yall say how come MJ didn't do this and that without PIPPEN. For one you act like MJ had been in the league 10 seasons. MJ had only been in the league 3 years still very , very young himself! But what yall failing to realize is, you cant make players thats destined to be great,great! But great players can take would be average players and make the good players. And as far as winning titles, I dont consider winning titles make you great, cause everyone on the team gets a ring weather the played or not! MJ was setting records before PIPPEN came into the league, and would have eventually won titles regardless bruh!!
@1CHOZN79 жыл бұрын
***** well the reason why he retired from the wizards is because, I dont know if you remembered when he dove on the floor and busted his chin for that loose ball while everyone else, who was in their early 20 s stood around and watch! Plus his role was a lot different because he was much older. You might say he scored this and scored that, but the points were different still. When he was younger he dominated on both ends of the floor and dominated at critical times in the game. With the wizards he couldn't do it on both ends like that, at 40 he really became what your best player would be at 27 or 30. So with that being said he didnt have enough to get them over the hump at that age in his career! And besides they pair all your best players up on one team now days and called them great, at least he still didn't do that!

I swear words can barely describe how good Jordan was. I mean I’ve played high school and college ball here in Quebec, I’ve played in various leagues, I’ve seen some great players, hell I was a great player, but Jordan lol And what makes him so great was his tenacity. Just there was no let up, every game, every play, was like his last. He played like his life depended on it lol Just you don’t see that drive and will, anywhere. He was big, 6’6, lean, could run like a Gazelle, had big hands, super athletic, and again, the tenacity. So much energy. I doubt we’ll see another like him, well maybe.

its crazy watching this in 2022 and being so fascinated by his game. But back then the mid range was normal. Now everyone just settling for 3s. Scoring 59 without a single 3 is actual a crazy feat in todays game. His footwork was impeccable he can get to his spot, post up someone up and in a matter of seconds he always in motion to shoot a jumper that seems difficult but its just light work, similar to curry shooting deep 3s.

BUt last and certainly not least was his kind of secret weapon: Jordan was shockingly strong physically; Barkley says people don't realize cuz he didn't look all big and buff (like him) that was one of the strongest PLAYERS in the league, and just ridiculoiusly stronger than any guard ever.

It's not a dernigrating term - a 'garbage player' is a player who regularly only comes off the bench when the game is already decided, to give the better players a rest down the stretch. This is called 'garbage time'. You will rarely see a garbage player appearing in the first half, that's what the commentator meant. He didn't mean he was a shitty player.

No. A garbage player is a guy who scored the ball without being the guy who plays were called for. Someone who got buckets with tip ins, put backs, etc. Cedric Ceballos was an All Star on the Lakers in the mid 90's playing that kind of game.

What can you say? He's the best baketball player I've seen play in my life, period. In this particular time of his career he was Godlike...he had a very self-centered game, true, but that's also as Doug Collins saw it the best way to coach the GOAT. Difficult to criticize imho. They had poor team around MJ and besides that he had still to understand that without a more team oriented game you don't win rings. I guess there weren't many other options for that bulls' squad. Anyway... what a joy to watch =) Only player that reminded me a bit of MJ's style has been D Wade. This is what I saw throughout more than 30 years watching basketball (I've instinctively quit around 2010, after the first GSW stint, before KD). He had similar level of dominance over defenders, perfect fundamentals, excellent Jumper shots selection and efficiency, crazy skills driving to the basket, athletic ability, balance and use of space, off the ball game, intelligence... Not saying Wade was same level as MJ, I am saying top Wade of career was close in style and elegance and efficiency. Much much more than Kobe has ever been imho. But D Wade played at that level only for a couple of seasons ...and that makes all the difference in the world.

These NBA players today couldn't handle Michael Jordan and that's why I laugh when people try to say lebron is the greatest because MJ skills are so advanced all I can do is smile. That dunk he did on them piston boys was humiliating.
