I missed PSAs like this. Yes, I knew a lot of kids and adults who rolled their eyes and ignored such PSAs, but I believe PSAs helped some people. It's better to have PSAs, than not have them. We are too laissez-faire these days when raising kids and teens. People need some guidance. We are not inherently good or bad, just a little selfish and short-sighted.

Dear friend: First of all he's not talking about smoking a cigar once or twice a week (and cigars particurlary aren't that much of a harmful drug because you don't inhale so the damage from smoking cigars - if any - is mainly done to your tongue and gums).Second he IS talking mainly about drugs like cocaine, heroin which in a 4-5 year span destroy you daily life disabling you from normal work, sports to name the least important. Third as being a smoker of nicotine cigarettes for the past 15 years i wish i had not started the bad habit which i would certainly not have started if there was the knowledge that is spreaded today through the web. Fourth and most important as a 40 year old man I now understand that the most addictive and enjoyable drug in life is kindness, love of your family, trying to be productive and essential to society(and I am not talking about making thousands of dollars) education and knowledge to name only a few. Oh yes a couple of cups of coffee don't hurt either!

mate, no-one wants people to be doing hard drugs except for drug gangs and pharmaceuticals corporations. Of those two only gangs don't give a shit about the result of their drugs, pharma companies know there's a cost benefit to ruining peoples lives, can't sell to someone who has no money. the reason why there's such a problem in homeless people is very multi-faceted and shouldn't be boiled down to "the kids aren't watching enough anti-drug messaging!" Drugs are bad isn't effective messaging because legality of drugs doesn't have a correlation with how harmful they are, we know that this kind of shit is made with ulterior motives. Alcohol is normalized and very harmful, pharma companies got half the country hooked on opiates yet weed,lsd and shrooms are all comparatively harmless. Being honest about the effects of drugs on people would be much more effective yet that will never happen in the US because there is a massive puritan population.
