+Trent Diamanti despite of the similarity of Dirks fadeway to Jordans, Dirk has his unique trademark fadeaway jumper by the ark of is release and the following rainbow form of the shot. So that defenders aren't able to block it. Jordan and I'm sure, players way back in time too, showed the one legged fadeaway first. Then, the WC Finals 2011 against Oklahoma City prove that Holger Geschwindner, Dirks personal coach, perfected the shot with him. Especially for his size. The shot may be similar but not equal. And so there are reasonable arguments that people associate this shot form with Dirk.

Phreiza while Jordan was taking a break pretending to play pro baseball, Olajuwon was dominating the league in ways Jordan only "Dreamed" of! Olajuwon is the only EVER regular MVP, Finals MVP, and DPOY in the same season while being the only all star on his team! Jordan couldn't even get out the first round of the playoffs before Pippen came in the league! The Bulls should thank the Sonic's for keeping the Rockets out the Finals in 93' cuz Olajuwon would've had another ridiculous Finals on them! Jordan averaged like 35+ points in the 95' playoffs, but got eliminated by the Magic. Then the Rockets SWEPT the Bulls! Jordan and Pippen openly admitted they did not want to see the Rockets in the finals because of that monster in the paint! By the way, between 91'-93', there was only one team with a winning record on the Bulls, the Rockets 5-1! maybe you should do some research and watch how Olajuwon OWNED Jordan since college!

So you can't say There was plenty better than him because in reality you were saying "There is plenty better than him" What you should have said is There were because were is the past tense of are. Mike played ball when the NBA was still where men played. Current NBA is sissy ball. Nothing but 3 pointers and no post ups. Back then there was a 7 footer on every team defending the goal. Not anymore. Very few true centers and the ones that are are so flimsy.
@Rowgue51
@Rowgue51 7 жыл бұрын
The NBA does not have lots of great post up players. It's all rehearsed scripted sequences of moves in the post from the few guys that even bother posting up anymore. None of them have any ability to see and feel how they are being defended and find another way to attack. If the other team is ready for their little scripted dance then they just fumble around and turn the ball over more often than not. And they will continue to go back to the same scripted sequence because it's all they know.

Ryan C - and ur living in conspiracy theory fantasy land with the zone defense myth. They used zone back then to, just surreptitiously and illegal defense was called once every few games. And Man to Man is superior - even today nobody uses zone except for a few possessions. It's strictly for use when you have a weak defender on your team you need to cover for or to stay out of foul trouble. Meanwhile you had no 3 sec def. rule back then meaning all the bigs just stood in front of the basket, there was full handchecking, chucking, wrapping and it was just incredibly physical. Contact was normal and not ruled a foul. Defenses are castrated today. And these complex schemes you speak of exist because defenses have to work around the severe handicap of having 3 second defensive rule which pacts the game immensely on so many levels - it's why there are highway like lanes to the basket today which also frees up perimeter players to shoot the three. And nobody posts up today - because of these soft defensive rules, nobody has to play with their backs to basket not only on the perimeter but in the post as well - that's insane. Today's game is barely basketball anymore. - they should just call it Threeball from now on. It's ridiculous how so many skills are being lost in the game and all the players drafted are all essentially the same - guys that are athletic and big enough to play the guard and small forward positions but aren't masters of any of them. Athleticism is at the forefront and fundamentals and skills which are more important Have been relegated to unimportance - why? Because todays rules have spread the floor so much, all you need is athleticism, while it lasts. That's why today's game is all about speed. MJ never used speed only to beat an opponent, never.
@darthjar9117
@darthjar9117 7 жыл бұрын
Boogie Loo no I remember illegal defense being called a lot in the 90s. The game was more physical. Hand checking and banging down low was part of the game and a part that I miss. Now guys like Demarcus Cousins wants a foul called every play. These babies wouldn't hack it in the real NBA of the 80s and 90s.

For info of those who are confused why always the comparison of today vs yesterday's NBA, is because of one obvious reason: NBA Changed it's own genuine rules to women's game (just a term - not trying to offend women). The rules of "Tough Defence" before and during MJ's era had pushed him and the rest of the star players to be very smart and creative or there will be no breaking of defence / bad rate of crossovers / and lesser points to make. The tough defence of the past NBA's didn't just pushed them higher to their utmost limits, but produced *** Adrenaline and Pure Aesthetic*** to the eyes of every man and woman on earth who loved the game dearly. It made the fans hungry to open their TV's or pay a ticket to watch it live even during regular plays of every season that were still far from the semis and final games. That is why you hear it being called "The Golden Era of NBA ".

I f'ing love old-man Jordan's footwork. He beat dudes literally half his age just with guile and smarts then. Love that you included plenty of that.

Incredible! MJ would look past his defender & immediately spin in the opposite direction of the approaching double/triple team! His post up game became perfection that no one before or since could match!
