You don’t realize how much of an athletic freak Jordan was until you watch his highlights in HD
@ninjachannel007
@ninjachannel007 Ай бұрын
And this wasn't even prime athletic Mike. He had lost 1/2 a step by 91-92. Go look at 85-88 when he's just zipping past and jumping over everybody. He was so athletic then that he was still at the top when he slowed down and started shooting more.
@cristiancandru8610
@cristiancandru8610 Ай бұрын
@@ninjachannel007 I think 91-92 was the season where you can see the biggest decrease in speed compared to the previous season. He started slowing down around 89, but the difference between 89 and 90 and 90 to 91 is not as pronounced as between 91 and 92. I wish he stayed at his 90 body, I think that was the perfect balance between muscle and speed.

@@Emsfly82 He lost some weight at the beginning of the 96-97 season, but I don't think he went below 210; also I think by the 97 playoffs he added a bit more muscle, so he was heavier than at the beginning of the season.

Watching MJ is realizing how fundamentally sound he was, he didn’t need 6 moves to get his points. He was quick enough to get past guards and SFs, yet strong & athletic enough to finish through PFs & Cs, It was quick and precise, 3 dribbles max into his shot and if he was defended well he had the foot work to get into a counter & the middy was 🧈🧈🤌🏽

If Jordan played in this Era, he'd be more Athletic and More Knowledgeable about the Game having all those advancements in Training, Technology, Nutrition and Analysis of the Game. Imagine that. Top 10 90’s Players: 1. Michael Jordan - AIR. Black Cat. The greatest player and the greatest career in NBA history. Most dominant offensive force and one of the games best defenders. A literal, overpowered video game character. 6x Champ 6x FMVP 5x MVP 1x DPOY 2. Hakeem Olajuwon - DREAM… back to back. The best of the mid90’s and second best player in the era. Hakeem is like Russell but with AllNBA offensive ability. 2x Champ 2x FMVP 1x MVP 2x DPOY 3. Karl Malone - the Mailman was LBJ minus the handles and vision. King of the pick n roll. 1x MVP, 97-98’ Finals app. 4. Charles Barkley - The Round Mound of Rebound was the Tasmanian devil in a basketball jersey. Prime 25 5 13 guy. Impact everywhere he went. OG DREAMTEAM member by the way… 1x MVP 5. John Stockton - MR. Stockton… best passer ever. One of the most fundamentally sound players ever. Played both ends at the highest level for 15 seasons. 97-98’ Finals app. 6. Gary Payton - THE GLOVE... GP was the best perimeter defender not named Pippen or MJ in the 90’s. A 20 & 10 threat for half his career. Underrated legacy and player. 1x Champ 7. David Robinson - The Admiral. The USA’s biggest weapon in the 90’s was also one of the greatest ever. Made the spurs relevant pre-Duncan and post. Has some of the greatest seasons statistically. Think Giannis but 7’2 with a lefty and 15 footer plus an even better defender. 2x Champ 1x MVP 8. Shaquille O’Neal - the most dominant ever. The immovable object/unstoppable force. Shaq was the definition of dominance. Should’ve been the goat. Nobody was in better position to take the crown of GOAT from MJ since Shaq in 04’. Yes. NOT Kobe, NOT LBJ. DIESEL. In the 90’s he was not in his prime. Only reason he’s not top5. 95’ Finals App. 9. Patrick Ewing - PAT… maybe the most overlooked on the list. Precursor to Embid with less range but better. Pat is of the most skilled & best defenders ever. In any sport. Held NYK down for over a decade and tried valiantly to lift them over #1 & #2 on the list but failed 94’ Final App. 10. Reggie Miller - WINNING TIME. The best of the mid90’s 3 point shooting and clutch behavior. Reggie was Ray Allen before Ray Allen. Unselfish, cerebral and did anything to win. Never could lift the Pacers past #1 but has hit some of the biggest shots in NBA history and displayed a desire for greatness rarely seen in a player. * HONORABLE MENTIONS: 10. (?) Scottie Pippen - BEAM ME UP! Pippen was the 2nd best player on the dynastic Bulls and arguably the best at his position for the 90’s. A defender of the class of MJ and a playmaker the likes of LBJ, Scottie helped do all the things MJ did in the 80’s besides scoring. Later on the 90’s he became a much more competent and even Allstar scorer. Guarded everyone from Magic to Malone. Even was top3 in MVP votes is 94’. The MOST essential piece to the dynasty not named MJ. 6x Champ Abdul Rauf, Kobe, McGrady, Duncan AI, Drexler, Webber, A. Davis, A. Mason, Daughtery, Coleman, Richmond, T. Hardaway, Petrovic, A. Hardaway, Hill

Yeah, anyone saying MJ wouldn’t be the same in todays game is fooling themselves. Watching these highlights, he’s just different. Like when he jumps, it looks effortless. Like he just floats. And it doesn’t look like he’s jumping, moreso just hops. Yeah, Gil, Shannon, they’re bugging.
