Lmao. No, he is not. And this was NOT even Kobe at his best. He was 30 here. Kobe averaged over 35 a game in 05/06. That was Kobe at his best. His last few years as #8.. And even then he STILL wasn’t “the best ever” , Jordan was FAR more skilled than Kobe ever was. Kobe tries to base so many of his moves OFF of Jordan…. MJ has TEN scoring titles. Ten. Kobe has two. TWO…. MJ literally has as many scoring titles as T-Mac, Kobe, Iverson, Wade, and LeBron ALL PUT TOGETHER lmao. Kobe is also the all-time leader in MISSED shots. LeBron is the all-time leader in TURNOVERS. MJ was better than both of them together.. MJ at the top of his game had ZERO weaknesses. Zero holes in his game at all. None…. He won the MVP, the scoring title, AND the defensive player of the year in the SAME damn season. And that wasn’t even his BEST season. That wasn’t even him at his peak yet. The dude had 7 consecutive scoring titles. Averaging over 34 a game in that 7 year stretch. Averages over 30 for his entire CAREER. Kobe’s career average is 25.0; MJ is the goat. Period. He just is. There’s no getting around it if you actually LOOK at him, look at his stats season by season, game by game, and for his entire damn career. Highest average in history with over 30pts a game. And he led the league in steals at least 3 times. Won 5 MVPs to Kobe’s 1. Won 6 FINALs MVPs to Kobe’s 2…. MJ is the goat without debate. It’s not even close.

Kobe's prime was 1999-2010. He was already the best player in the league by 2001. Sure, Shaq was the dominant Center of the team, but Kobe was the most important player on those teams even in 2000 as far as allowing them to win championships. He was not only the team's best Guard by a mile since the 1997 season, and he was the Lakers best defender by a mile as well. He guarded guys like Reggie Miller, Iverson, Kidd, Stockton, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Tmac, MJ, Carmelo, Lebron, etc. I remember back in the 1996 playoffs against Utah, Kobe was destroying Stockton defensively as a rookie. Stockton couldn't handle Kobe's athleticism and size. Kobe was a big strong dude. Most people remember the air-balls Kobe tossed up, but there was a good reason he was allowed to take those shots. His coach at the time knew exactly what Kobe was going to become just by seeing the way he was playing defense and offense as a rookie. Kobe was just too tired to make the shots as an 18 year old coming straight out of high school.

One of the greatest and most skilled offensive players of all time, multiple scoring titles and even put up 35 a game in the dead ball era. While also being one of the best perimeter defenders ever and making the all defensive team 12 times if I remember correctly. 5 chips to go along with all that, while being one of the clutched game mentally toughest players to ever play, only MJ and Bird are on his level of mental toughness in my personal opinion.

Hakeem had some crossovers when he’d face up too and some of the best fakes, up and unders, you name it. Saying others got more ways to score down low in the post or near the hoop is crazy. Lebron, Wade, Dwight, CP3 and Melo played out of their minds in the 2009 season but still, everyone on the planet knew who the best player in the world was. Kobe’s offensive and defensive were second to none and while his athleticism still held up to par after the surgeries. This is the most complete Kobe (03 and 06 are his best versions)

As a laker fan besides magic throwing up the hook against the Celtics that year in 09 was the most fun I had of any other laker team. This guy wasn't the fastest, strongest, quickest but what he had better then most aside from Mr. Jordan was his heart and had the guts to go at anyone no matter what size or strength they had against him, I still believe and will always believe this guy should of ended with 4 mvps and 2 more rings before he retired, this man was robbed so much. Even going to the parade was amazing the route to Figueroa st all the way to the rosebowl was memorable.

06-07 season and this season were his prime in my opinion. There was around 2 weeks in the 06-07 season where Kobe was literally putting up 50+ every game. EVERY. GAME. Kobe always made tough shots look routine. But the 08-09 was also great because he had a championship team and he had more players that were able to contribute besides him. Anyone who watched during the 08-09 season knows how much of an endurance test it was for the Lakers in the playoffs. You had to beat 4 tough ass teams (Jazz, Rockets, Nuggets and Magic). Kobe reminded everyone that he was the best player every year and won his first chip without Shaq. It still feels surreal that he's gone. R.I.P Kobe 🕊🙏🏼

it’s my favorite Kobe season because he changed his mindset of leadership which is to be mean and tough to everyone in the team. No mistakes allowed. He asked almost perfection. He can’t win that title since you have 09 Celtics, cavs and Orlando,all great teams.
@chrisboswell3576 Жыл бұрын
If Kobe could have won the 08 ship that would have been his greatest season. The way he displayed leadership after coming off of 3 rough team seasons. MVP. His 2008 playoff run to the finals is masterful. The way he dismantled the defending champs spurs in the WCF is one of his best playoff series. Go back and watch game 1 and game 5 in those series. To me that is up there with the most confident Kobe ever was. Unfortunately the Celtics were too much that year. Also he didn’t play his best in the finals. But 09 was the redemption season. No matter what he made it happen. His WCF vs Denver in 09 was clutch. And then Kobe set the tone for the 09 finals in game 1 with 40 points and all business. I think 09 is Kobe’s best season. Although I never forget about his insane performances in 2000-2002 playoff runs.

LeBron wasn’t as skilled. No one is saying that. However, LeBron can impact the game in ways other than scoring as well. When he wants to, he can defend well. His athleticism helps him a lot in that area of the game. He has amazing IQ. He is like a floor general. He is basically a coach on the floor. His passing/court vision is phenomenal. He’s not just a scorer. I’m not getting into a LeBron vs Kobe debate here. I’m just saying that yes Kobe is a more skilled scorer but LeBron has other gifts which make up for that and so that’s why they are the same in my eyes.

I've watched the NBA for 30 years. This four year period from 2008-2012 from Kobe was the most skilled basketball I've ever seen, even more than Mike... He was way less gifted than Mike or Lebron, but he had better fundamentals and a higher level of difficulty per shot on average. The shots he would take nobody in the history of basketball would ever attempt. It became so normalized during this time bc he did it every night. Sure, sometimes he would get too cocky and take difficult shots on PURPOSE and make things hard on himself, but it was amazing to watch. The NBA today is boring AF. Its a glorified 3 point contest.
