The problem was Luis Rojas, he had no control of the clubhouse

Just because we don’t boo our players that means we aren’t genuine? That doesn’t make much sense to me

Let this go. Garry Templeton lost his temper for a moment and we lost him in STL. Nobody is perfect. Everybody is human. Apologize and move on.

2 things. 1. Most importantly, Templeton was getting racial slurs hurled at him. That's a line that shouldn't be crossed. Ever. Other things, like throwing things at the players, hurling personal insults at them, insulting their families, etc. shouldn't be tolerated. I know Stroman has received some racial slurs on social media. That's indefensible. I hope people who do that are kicked off of those sites and if they do it in the park, they should be kicked out there, as well. But to the best of my knowledge, Lindor, Baez and Pillar never even alleged that. Based on what Baez said anyway, it's just the act of being booed that upset them. And I don't think I've ever booed a home player and rarely boo visiting players. But Don's right. You pay through the nose just for tickets. Then you have to pay for parking or get there via public transit (which, even if COVID wasn't a thing, is incredibly uncomfortable in pretty much every town). You pay for concessions. You pay for apparel. And if they win, you're buying even more apparel and probably paying more for it. It is kind of hard to just let it go. 2. It's interesting that you bring up Templeton as an example. Because yeah, you lost him in St. Louis. But when he was traded, you got a replacement coming back your way that I think ended up being OK. Even if you do just cut ties with a player, it's not exactly a guarantee that things won't work out.

When it comes to Yankee fans my age and older they are completely spoiled. You saw a lot of success in the 90's and early 2000's and you have a little drought you can't handle it.....................

See I can kinda see both ways. I certainly understand the frustration from the fan perspective. But at the same time why is this just a New York thing? They mention how Baez wasn't booed in Chicago, Lindor wasn't booed in Cleveland. I don't see Diamondbacks fans booing their team. I don't see Pirates fans booing their team. So why is this only a New York thing and they're seemingly proud of it? So they're proud to be rude to people?
@victorjrortiz943 жыл бұрын
which is why those teams you mentioned barely win championships, so if my team goes 30 games under .500 year in and year out, fans are just supposed to he happy and contempt with that, the same way you cheer your team when they’re doing good, you can also hold your team accountable for them not playing up to their potential
@Eragonfrost3 жыл бұрын
We as New Yorkers hold our players to higher standards, does it make them win more? You can argue yes but it obviously comes with being in a big market too.
@41Brother23 жыл бұрын
@@Eragonfrost But see I can only see that for the Yankees. Met's haven't even come close to the same level of success as their Bronx neighbors. 2 World Series championships, 3 additional pennants, only made the postseason what 14 times in their entire history? This whole "holding teams accountable" thing almost sounds like ya'll demand they win a championship
@41Brother23 жыл бұрын
@@Eragonfrost Another thing is you say holding them to a higher standard makes em win more. No New York team has won a championship since the Giants in 2012. Meanwhile cities like Boston have dominated sports the past 2 decades. Are Boston fans holding their teams to the same standard? OK sure they shat on Cam Newton but Newton came in to replace one of the greatest QB's in the sports history not exactly fair to expect him to play at the same level Brady was. So why is this such a New York thing? Why is it only this city? I'm not a New Yorker so from an outside perspective it seems very strange to me

@@41Brother2 exactly that opportunity doesn’t come that often for mets fans, the mets were in first place for a good chunk of the season, in the beginning of august they were 4 games ahead in the division, now they’ll be lucky to make the playoffs, how do you expect mets fans to react to that, when they don’t get opportunities to make playoffs ever so often

Lindor didn’t want to be a Met. He wanted to go to Toronto. Toronto made a good offer but Cleveland went with the Mets. When the Mets offered him the money he had no choice. I guarantee you he will never get over the decision . Ever. Now you’re stuck in New York. Jays won’t trade for you now. Enjoy it.

The Mets should relocate somewhere. The Giants did it and nobody died. The Dodgers did it and the world didn't end. Both of those teams combined for 20 NL pennants in their NYC tenures. The Mets have 5 NL and 2 WS championships in 60 years. The should move to Dyersville and change their name to the Dyersville Dreamers. They are dreaming.
