I know this is cheesy and sentimental, but I love it. I remember watching this when I was a little kid, wearing my footy winter PJs. I knew my family was going to Epcot that summer, but there were several feet of snow outside in the Washington, D.C. area that year (83). It was a record breaking snow for the area, and I was recovering from Pneumonia. Michael Landon was part of my childhood, from reruns of Bonanza, to Little House on the Prairie: I could not have asked for a better role model.

I wish I were in entertainment, so I could discover someone with his charisma and creativity. I think the facts the he was kind of an outsider when young, but he trained and became athletic, then Hollywood realized he was such a good-looking man, probably led to him being a strong leader, who always seemed to be aware of those less fortunate. I cried when that man died. He seemed like a friend to the "everyman".

Likely just the way times changed. Musicals were not as popular at that time. He had become like a "Paul Bunyon" or something larger than a popular actor though.
