And someone might make a police complaint about Rawiri Waititi's public statements. At interview yesterday he said things including "Māori are entitled to participate" (in illegal strike action from their employment in order deliberately to impede traffic), and "For far too long we've allowed them to assume absolute sovereignty and governance over us, this needs to stop", and "we've gotta be brave enough and start to assert rangatiratanga". So he is encouraging Maori to believe they have a right to break laws, that NZ's laws don't or shouldn't apply to Maori and that Maori need only obey laws as decided by one or another rangatira. This is inciting law-breaking and it's sedition. Crimes against the Sovereign and the State come under such titles as Treason which in our Crimes Act is punishable by imprisonment up to 14 years or life depending on the exact behaviour.

The Crimes Act describes Waititi's comments as sedition or even treason. Section 74 onwards.... Waititi and his wife should both be charged. He swore an oath of allegiance to the King. My partner and I have lived here for 11 years. We have served the public both being drs for the entirety of that time. I loved nz when I came here. The last 5 years have been catastrophic for nz and we are leaving in 18 months. I can’t live in a country where you are defined by the colour of your skin or your ethnicity. Growing up in a small Northland town (where the entire place was our playground) - there were no Pakeha or Maori - .........they were just your mates, which still proudly holds true 60 years later as we laugh and reminisce of those halcyon days whilst lamenting the divisive and troubled country the children of today (as well as tomorrow) so unfairly and unnecessarily face.

thing is. it would be very damaging for the kids being grown up today.. (the ones from multi-cultural backgrounds) this is a terrible education for them! they are learning this from 'somewhere' (not usually multi-cultural homes).. you know what i mean? there is a generation being taught a one way hatred movement. (im genX) and we were not taught this. - we were taught to integrate. (love thy neighbor - so to speak) . my partner was dame whina coopers nephew.. (he has since passed) but would be disgusted with this. he hated 'white hate' speak - and yes, we do see this from time to time - less and less these days. but this is (today) is more than just "revenge speak" (now you know how we all feel/felt) and is definitely moved into hate speak territory. (not helpful at all) reminds me a bit of reading scots clan heritage - where a grudge could fester for several generations before rearing its head into mini warfare..
