I'm so happy for the positivity in this comment section. Back in the days when I mostly listened to metal etc. every time an artist tried out something new or dared to push the boundaries of the genre they mostly got huge negative backlash and were made fun of. Here its just so open and unbiased. People listen. And appreciate the courage it takes to come up with something new or unexpected. Very well done Michael. I'm excited for more!

I don't really have words to express how floored I was hearing this track. There are only 12 notes on the western musical scale, and (mostly) one instrument in this song, yet it sounds like NOTHING I've ever heard before. I sat in stunned silence for several minutes just processing it. Then I listened to it again and it hit me the same way. The harmony vocals are otherworldly. I've really never heard anything like them. Alice in Chains had some pretty creative harmonies -- like nothing I had ever heard before their time -- but this is another level. Vid's pretty cool too. There's a lot to process, but the element that held my attention the most was the ocean thru the window. If you didn't notice it, watch it again and see if it doesn't lend a major sense of DREAD to the scene. That water reminds me of the Japan 3/11 tsunami -- a ravenous monster preparing to consume. Takes a real snarky puppy to write something this fresh!!

Every time I listen to this song, I feel like I need/want more. From the chord progression, the vocal lyrics & harmonies and the amazing production, I just can't get enough. I know it's just wishful thinking, but I'd so love to have an extended version of this with a great keyboard solo (piano or synth) or possibly even a sitar that further explores the chord space. Love...love...love this. Thank you Michael!

Beautifully simple piano line for the verse - check. Immensely deep and interesting chord progression for the chorus - check. Melancholic, haunting, powerful but intimate melodic line across the top - check. Crazily precise, intracetely woven arrangement and sublime bass to back it up - check. Vocal harmonies so good they can make an adult weep - check. And that's just the music! So many more layers.... lyrics, production, acting, video, concept... I'm starting to think the lad knows what he's doing.

Gulp. I'm going to go curl up in a corner and cry now. That might be the most beautifully depressing thing I've ever heard. I came here after only recently discovering and devouring most of Snarky Puppy's discography. I had no idea what to expect, but it wasn't this. Michael is clearly an incredibly complex individual, and he clearly has as many bright moments as dark, but the nihilism/fatalism in this song is disturbing. Beautify, haunting, exquisite, but worrisome as well. I'd love a worldview conversation with Michael.
