Saw him today at the Saturday matinee. He blows T.T out of the water both in Singing and Acting. I felt like I saw a whole new show with him....

Matheus Damasceno, HOW ARE YOU SOOOOOO LUUUUUUUCKY??? I wish I could’ve seen Ben Platt, or Taylor Trensch, or Michael Lee Brown. I saw Ben Levi Ross. I mean, HE WAS PRETTY GOOD THOUGH, HE WAS ACTUALLY REALLY AMAZING. Actually, I think I just wanna see all of them. XD

I saw him recently when I was fortunate enough to see DEH in nyc . I think it’s a poor decision to keep him as the under study . He’s so believable as a 17 year old and full of pure talent.

So I’ve seen 3 Evans (Michael lee brown, Ben platt, and Taylor trensch) and they were all phenomenal, but mlb was my first evan so I’m always gonna be partial to him (plus he’s the nicest dude ever)

I’ve seen Ben in the role and Michael and for me, Michael was my favorite. Ben was obviously incredible but Michael just brought something so incredible to the character. Seeing this made me cry, I want to see him again.

I think Michael is better than Ben in every way.

Saw this show twice at the end of December last year... first time.. I was a little mad because Noah Galvin wasn't on... but as soon as Michael opened his mouth... he absolutely me blew me away.. I don't think I've ever seen such a consummate character performance in a Musical.. his presence.. his voice and his absolute absorption was utterly incredible.. I think I totally sobbed throughout...

The understudies/alternates had more freedom with the character than the main actor.

Why do they keep this boy as the understudy???? He's incredible!!!

I think he is probably the most believable, and my favorite Evan based on how he performs the last 45 seconds of the song.

I bought a ticket months in advance and it happened to be a Saturday matinee. I now know it was my luck because I got the see Michael's ***incredible*** performance as Evan. I cried my way through show, and I still get teary eyed just thinking about it. Such a moving performance...If I could, I would go back to see him do it again in a heartbeat! What a superb talent. It was a pleasure to meet him and thank him at the stage door. I am hoping to see him again later this year and maybe even on tour.

@legoindiecomments13446 жыл бұрын
MikiKaoru Because the note is so high to sing and is at the tip top of most tenors ranges.

Aside from the song constantly escalating (as Evan gets more and more frustrated), the entire company is on stage and singing at the same time he is during the second half of the song. He sings the last part loudly so he can be heard. And on stage he is flawless, he is in tears when he is done singing (and so was I)! I would go watch him as Evan every time he is on stage if I could.

Are the hand movements choreographed? His are VERY similar to ben's.
@gwendolynnguyen30286 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say they're choreographed-- I think it's more like an imitation of Ben's interpretation of the character. Especially when you're understudying a role, it's hard to fully create your own version of the character, so borrowing is common. It'll be interesting to see how Evan's character evolves with different casts.

I was in love with his voice until he started holding out the words too much. And his waving wasn't pleasing to the ears. Also, his face was contorted in an angry look, when I guess I always envisioned a look of exasperation and loneliness. Before he sounded flat I was about to crap myself the beginning sounded phenominal.
