I will never forget this movie in my life. It was the only movie which I really enjoyed in theatre. It was a laid back Sunday afternoon. Empty roads in Chennai. My Uncle took me by cycle from Adyar to Woodlands in Royapettah. I faintly remember wide roads, lot of trees and not much crowd those days. We laughed a lot throughout the movie and I still laugh the same way. A little background about my Uncle. He was one of the rare people in my family who was mad about movie watching. I think this started when he was posted in Hyderabad from his first job and he stayed there till his demise. He was the funniest Uncle of all my uncles and elders. He would suddenly vanish from his office or house, and you would find him in a theatre watching any movie that releases. Evening he would come with head down and sneak into his house. Loved him :-) So whenever this Uncle visits any house, its celebration for the kids in that house. Parents cannot scold my Uncle so kids get Thumbs-up to go to theatres. When we returned from this MMKR movie, it was dark around 8 pm. Those days there were frequent powercuts in Chennai. Our family was waiting for our dinner with candle light. My mom (his sister) was little angry with the delay and powercut due to which she had to wait for us to finish dinner + winding up. My Uncle guessed this, quietly parked the cycle and smartly diverted the discussion to some family issues. But I was lying on the floor in a dark room, reliving all the memories of the movie, the jokes, comedy. Also as a kid I loved the song "Per vechalum" and all the looty that takes place. This is the best movie I have ever watched. Thanks Kamal, Crazy, Ilayaraja and Singeetham sir. Amazing combo.
