I just met Murph at the show he does in Red River, NM. I am 61 and have been listening to him since WIldfire come out in what ...74? I have a brief dialog with him, and he is sure a great guy, and a great Christian, and he lives his beliefs. He take s a moment here and there to throw in his two cents worth on our values in this country, in caring for our world. He isn't a big climate change freak, it is just common sense. God gave this beauty to us and we need to take care of our beautiful earth. He has a beautiful heart and is a great man of God.

Even though I was only 7 or 8 at the time, I remember being moved by this song. Not just from how it was sung, or by the beautiful melody, but I could tell both my Mom and Dad loved this song. They never said anything, but every time it came on the radio in our car, our entire family would go silent and just listen. It connects me to my family, when we were all young and all together. R.I.P. Mom and Dad. I love you.

I was only 4…but even so, I would become so emotional by this song. All I could think of was the connection between the girl and a horse. To this day I love animals, but this song began that love for me…

No better string of melodies and vocals that come to memory to this day. What an incredible gift given to us all to enjoy time after time, it never gets old like we do. Thank you God for allowing this slice of divinity to enter our minds through the miracle of hearing.. What an incredible dynamic 👏

I lost my wife on Christmas Day 2020. don't expect things to go back to normal anytime soon..Don't keep to yourself - get out and visit friends and eventually things will fall into place. Some dark days ahead but there's light at the end of the tunnel. There;s an outfit called GriefShare that you might want to look into. I think they're all over the country. Group with others who have lost a loved one.

I was 18 when this song hit the charts. I was in love with the girl next door. But she was 14, and her dad would not let us date. She loved this song because 'Wildfire" represented our love which was lost in a blizzard of parental disapproval. At times I still miss Diane, and wonder how she's doing. Memories of Sacramento and the girl on Jonas Ave.

There is none so good as this, and only wish songs of today could put one in a place as to remember and wish they were at that place again. What a loss for this now generation, all is loud and w/no meaning. Maybe one day, they will look back in amazement and realize, us old folks, really had it going on! Lots of good songs and artist that really knew how to sing and mean what they sang.

Great stuff. Hard to beat the music of that decade. There were several other " Country Rock" bands of that time period. Poco, Allman Bros. Pure Prairie league, John Denver's Eagles and Horses and Ponies are a couple of other great Horse related songs. Chestnut mare by The Byrds. If you like them you will like Bob Bennett. Great under recognized singer/songwriter guitar player. I recommend His album Songs from Bright Avenue.

Saw him perform last night 10/9/20 in The Woodlands, TX at Dosey Doe Big Barn, dinner, and a show. It was wonderful. He played for two solid hours solo. Small venue right up close. Definitely one of the greats. He spoke about his American wife. I read that they wed in 2017, and found some video of their indian wedding. Very nice. He was born and raised in Dallas, TX. Now has a working farm/ranch in Colorado which he's had for years. Said he bought it in the early to mid 80's. He was very open and honest. Says he only does shows now for charity, and for the love of it. Christian man too. He said to look up this video fro 76 to see his long hair. So here I am.

One of the best songs ever written. And sang. I'm a country boy not a cowboy so I never had much to do with horses until I got hired as a youth counselor at a therapeutic boarding school for at risk youth. Where I became the team leader in the Hospice horse program in our equine department. Watching kids who were ex gang members from L.A. bond with these horses truly changed my life. I can tell you from personal experience. That horses are some of the most majestic animals on earth and our country would be 50 or more years behind where we are today if it weren't for these beautiful powerful creatures. Ride on Wildfire
