1st solo hit! 😎 Produced by Ted Templeman and Larry Waronker. Ted Templeman is best known as the producer for The Doobie Brothers, Montrose and Van Halen. Larry Waronker is best known as the producer for Gordon Lightfoot. Michael McDonald permitted Warren G to sample this. Michael McDonald sang a lot in the 1970s and in the 1980s. Michael McDonald joined The Doobie Brothers in 1975. He wrote What a Fool Believes with Kenny Loggins. The song won a Grammy. In 1980, Michael McDonald sang backing vocal in the Christopher Cross song Run Like the Wind. In 1982, I Keep Forgetting was a big hit. In 1983 he wrote Yah Mo Be There with the late James Ingram and Quincy Jones. In 1984, MM finished the lyrics to I'll Wait. Official credits: I'll Wait written by Van Halen + Michael Macdonald. In 1986, MM sang On My Own with Patti Labelle, and MM sang backing vocal in I'll Be Over You with Toto. In 1982, Greg Phillinganes also played with Lionel Richie. Steve Lukather played guitar here. In addition to MM, Steve Lukather played guitar in the studio for his band Toto, Chicago and Michael Jackson (Thriller). Steve Lukather, being in his band Toto, worked like a dog in 1982! LOL RIP Jeff Porcaro, drummer for I Keep Forgetting.

All early rap songs sample the beats for all form of music. These days most can take a whole song and just put their lyrics on top. It's just now the have to clear it with the original artist to make sure they are paid for their song. There are some Rap songs that use different beats from a lot of songs in only one of theirs.

I'm from SC and it wasn't me. Lol. It hasn't been claimed as of now. They're not releasing the town in which it was bought yet either.

I'm sure several mentioned it, as I did. I didn't play though. Give a listen to Dan Hartman -" I Can Dream About You." It has a 60s Motown flavor, but written in the 80s for the movie Streets of Fire, which you really ought to watch. Great cinematography, acting, music etc. You and I seem to have a lot in common in the way we see and hear art. A lot of the things you notice and comment on are the same things I do. I want to do the Patreon thing but it will be a couple of months, probably January before I can.

Love watching the reaction "looks" on your face and keeping the head bop with the beat. First video of yours I've watched. I liked it. Keep it up brother. Peace, and long live the 70s and 80s.

Dude got his first gig with the Doobie Brothers, then went solo. Plus, he ruffled a bunch of feathers jumping in the R&B scene. I guess they figured they could make money off him, because he had the writing and the chops to pull it off and be legit. Killer voice...pop "I Keep Forgetting" on the car system, grab ur girl, throw her in the car, que it up and take off. You'll be knockin the bottom out of her by the fist traffic light lol.

There is a video by George Thorogood called Madison Blues which he performs with blues great Albert Collins. Thorogood is one of the greatest slide guitarists ever. Peace!
