I reckon there are 3 key motivations for football players. Money, prestige and enjoyment. Palace can't quite compete on money and prestige, but the gap isn't so big now. Our best players earn £5-6m a year. And with Glasner in charge you feel like there is a chance to get some prestige. What we, Palace, excel at is enjoyment and quality of life. The Palace family. It's important to understand what a good work environment and club culture Palace have developed over the years. It allows us to hold onto key young players for a bit longer than you might expect. Ask any ex-Palace player what it's like to play there and they will say it's like a family. Down to earth, supportive, community oriented. Depending on your personality, this can be a big thing. Why have Eze and Olise signed new contracts? Because they feel at home. When they leave, they will do so with the blessing of the whole club and fans. When we say "stay one more year, it could work out better" it can make sense to younger players. They know what going to a club like Man Utd means. It's a big change and a risk.

As a Palace fan. Olise is easily one of the best players we've ever had.. In my top 10 comfortably. Going to Man Utd, would be great financially.. Rashford is on about 400k a week. But, he'd get more elsewhere in Europe. not more than Rashford. but more than 100k he's on now. Olise is good enough for Champions League. I could see him at PSG or another mainstay of UCL.

Every United fan knows that United has been the worst run club in world football since the Glazers bought it with borrowed money. Ratcliffe has come in to run the football department and has started to transform it by appointing capable people in all the key positions. The disorganised money squandering United since SAF left will be no more. Over the next few years you'll see a transformation and United will return to where it should always have been. Olise is a good player, but I don't want United to sign an injury prone player with dodgy hamstrings for 60m. Dodgy hamstrings only get worse over time and end being chronic. United has enough issues with injuries and need to sign physically robust players that can deliver on a consistent basis.
