He was as fast as you'd get, rapid is an understatement. Turned out to be his achilles heel in the end tearing his hamstrings. When he started playing, was very exciting being as Liverpool fan, was wandering where the fuck this guy appeared from, just started from game one rinsing players and scoring goals for a laugh. Michael Owen was the Ian Botham of football. Displayed world class talent at a young age and became a superstar, but declined quickly. With retrospect he had had already peaked at that young age. Brazilian Ronaldo was similar, though his peak was certainly higher than Owens. Rooney is another player who could be put in this bracket.
