Clearly they’re ignorant at least for the time and maybe they’re going through something and deal with that hate themselves, or deal with self hate and thus feel the need to project. Words don’t break bones or cause injury, and you shouldn’t give them the power to lead to someone (including you) doing those things no matter how offended you are. When they get physical, that’s a different story. When they try getting others to harm you, that’s a different story. Laws are in place for that, though. Not sure what fight you think you’re fighting but it’s handled, even on the social side. We don’t need you to speak for minorities that you may or may not belong to, because not all minorities, marginalized or not, agree. So to pretend you speak for all who experience such things is ludicrous, and the only reason I’m saying my piece is to refute your claim of understanding the marginalized, we are more than our marginalization, and yet that’s ignored so much that they marginalize us in that way and then the other side that supposedly hates us just has a different outlook than you. No wonder more gay people are flocking to centralism or, more aligned with what I just said, “conservatism” which at this point is off-brand liberalism, which is good when the actual brand is putting poison in their product and lying to you, etc

Jerry's reaction to Michael not being ready to let the pain go was a typical response from what seems like a predominant thinker to a predominant feeler. Giving others advice on things you don't (appear to) understand or have not experienced yourself rarely yields receptivity on the part of the injured party. While I will not embrace the tirade Michael carried out years ago, I understand his response to this level of insecurity and respect his process of working through this challenge. Only people conceived through rape can begin to fathom how he may be feeling. Also, many of the "the conception via rape and his racist rant are not connected) comments here seem like they are responses from people who have never experienced trauma or are refusing to acknowledge it in their lives and instead rely on control as a coping mechanism. Anyone who has experienced trauma and worked through it realizes that there are 2 realities: trauma reality (which we enter through a triggering experience) and non-trauma reality (in which we don't see or acknowledge any trauma we are suppressing or have not experienced ourselves). Just because it doesn't make sense to you, does not mean the two are not connected.

Both things CAN be true, have you thought about that!? In fact both of those things seldom do go hand in hand together, unfortunately. Prostitutes get raped and abused all the time, by monsters and psychopaths of all sorts who only pay women exactly so they can get away with abusing them in the worst ways. One thing is to have consensual, transactional sex with a prostitute, another one is to abuse her while at it and hurt her in the process. There’s a grey area with prostitution, and it’s one where prostitutes are almost never treated gently or kindly. This is where emotional intelligence is key, people in general need to develop more of it, cause hardly anything in life is black and white; and the nuances of prostitution specially are complex. Mum herself may have been very confused over the years about what happened to her that one time, which is where her seeing it as rape may have come from, because that’s what it might have actually been. She most probably got brutalized by that client, again as too many sex workers usually are. I know that it’s deeply painful for you, but give her some grace if you can. She seems to have had a pretty hellish life.

The best thing is Michael Richards found a way to be loved by all of us. He has the world's love as our buddy Kramer and became wanted. He's a regular human like all of us, no one deserves to be unwanted. Every person who is born in anyway deserves to thrive. I fully understand what happened to him now in 2006, the agony about his beginning must've been really unbearable for this talented comic to accept. He is not a waste of space, he is Seinfeld legend Michael Richards, up there with Jerry Seinfeld, Nancy Cartwright, Dick Van Dyke and Betty White.

This on top of everything else. In jail terms, Michael metaphorically has certainly more than served his time now. Not excusing what he said and did, but the man has been ruined for two decades. Feel sorry for him. Such a talent that was utilized in the perfect role at the perfect time. I say all this as a progressive. I don't know what possessed him but everyone has said or done something racist or hurtful in a moment of weakness, and we try to improve and move past it. Some maybe never will, but many of us do.

Michael, you are such a good man. It’s only a good man that would come forward with the honesty and sincerity that you have and true forgiveness in your heart. His Mother truly loved her baby to not do what many other Women are told to do in this horrible situation. I'm glad you're here Michael. You've made many people laugh. Also, if a person can't forgive him for him losing it against people who allegedly were attacking him while he was on stage then so be it. I forget if the people that he was hurling insults at were the ones that were rudely interrupting his show. Either way it's best to forgive people. Holding onto grudges is something no person should do. It can cause a lot of damage to the brain. People are more at Peace if they learn to forgive.

As a person who found out the same at the age of forty, I know how traumatic this is to find out. The man who raised me wasn't my dad. Then the realization of who was, my uncle. Whole life was a lie and neither my mother nor the man who raised me are alive to talk about it. Just my uncle and now that the whole family knows, they say I deserve to know the truth. That was even more disturbing because they all knew. They knew. But I'm so very thankful my momma had me. I'm thankful for the saint of a man who raised me. I'm thankful that my uncle is still alive so I can forgive him. I don't know if I will ever speak to him. I used to years ago. He keeps tabs on me but nothing more. I don't know the circumstances. They were all young back then and heavy on partying. Seeing this helped me today. I'm not alone in this confusing situation. I'm still processing it. It truly does take a toll on your mentality. But if I wasn't here, neither would my seven children and three grandchildren be. I've got three more grandchildren on the way. God doesn't make mistakes and truth be told, my mom straightened her life up when she had me, so there truly is a purpose to everything, good or bad. PS...God gets all the glory for the beautiful family I have been given.

I don't know whether Michael Richards was actually a racist or not. I seriously doubt it. I can't help but think that the incident with the heckler during his performance was overblown. I don't know what kind of language the black person in the audience was using, but I could see Michael or anyone for that matter losing his cool in the heat of the moment. I think it's human nature that if we get angry enough at someone, we are liable to choose whatever words we think will offend them the most. Either way, I believe he is a good man and he has carried this burden with him longer than he should have. I would like to see him perform again. As for his performance on the Seinfeld show, I don't think it would have taken off like it did without him. He was by far my favorite character. I'm sure that most of his funny gestures, quirky mannerisms, and his slapstick were not scripted. That was the stuff of pure comic genius.

Michael needs to forgive himself... That's probably the hardest part of repenting.. To finally realize we are human and make some dumb mistakes. He's one of the funniest comedians and the only reason I started watching Seinfeld to begin with. There are numbers of people that are the product of rape, but that doesn't diminish our value as a human being. God doesn't make junk. I wish the babies of rape would realize the perpetrator made the mistake.. Not the mother or the baby. No shame. All babies are beautiful and have great worth, I'm going to buy his book. Very impressed he did so much personal working on himself.

When you have secret pain in your heart, then someone begins to say or do things that reduce your dignity and personal perception of worth... it is to be expected that something not so good may happen. And it did. It's time to step away from it and rebuild your inner image. What you see with your heart. Your conception should not rule over the person you truly are. You are NOT defined by it. You are not responsible for your parents' attitudes towards you. They are responsible for mistreating you. No baby would choose to be conceived in a loveless manner, but many are and have been conceived that way for thousands of years. It's time to heal.
