I think it’s because this is when Michael was more animated with his presentation. He does more actions so they can use it for more stuff :)

It's largely because people have been using it for the longest time compared to the use of the newer poem readings. They just have more experience with them, and I think that there are more of the 2008 michael poems than any of the other time periods. It's also a matter of keeping the background consistent, while the 2008 source's backgrounds might shift around from poem to poem, they are still the same grey and white backgrounds, so switching to a newer source to help sentence mix would be like two people speaking a sentence, with one person filling in words here and there. In short: more experience, 2008 sources are probably the most numerous, and switching between two sources would be a bit jarring
