MICHAEL'S LAST GIFTS BEFORE HIS DEPARTURE!

Michael Petherick from @Doing It Ourselves opens the last of his huge haul of gifts at the Chateau de Lalande before returning to the Chateau de la Basmaignee to continue work on his cottage...
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. KZbin earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:

British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634

Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350

Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255

Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020 & Jan & Feb 2021:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa €5500

I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖

Philip, would you do a video about how you repair broken things? My mother had beautiful china from Europe growing up. She was heartbroken when a piece broke. I glued several pieces back together again, it was before super glue, so I would truly love to learn how to do this! My glueing at 8 & 10 years old was not very good! Michelle

Just a little tips to people sending breakable things, so they hopefully arrive intact. Wrap each piece in several layers of boblewrap (about 3-5 layers). If it has a stem or small things sticking out ie. ears, wrap that extra well. Make sure nothing is touching each other and that there is atleast 2 inches/5 cm clearing on all sides. And fill the box with packing materials like newspapers so there isn't any room to move, but not pack it so tight that it won't cushion.

Yes Anna, nothing like the original Disneyland, my first visit was in 1980, have been back many times and even though other parks are bigger you can't beat it... I remember the smell of the pine trees and how beautiful it is very early in the morning as you soak up the atmosphere before lots of people arrive for a day of fun! Best wishes from Australia 🦘

There is China weld glue that doesn’t yellow over time. I love the music boxes, I have the full set of books in collector boxes. 🥰 I love the idea of the silky type tea bags but.....they make little particles of plastic in your tea. I cried when I found that out because I had a nice big tin of yummy tea and had to chuck them out. 😳
