I saw the tour these guys did here in Portland. Tiny little venue, probably less than 500 people. Seeing Schenker with THAT rhythm section that close was INCREDIBLE! I've seen Michael Schenker numerous times since 1983 and this show was hands down the best. They were so tight. I think Herman was 65 at the time and he was GREAT!

I once met Michael at an MSG show in Chicago in 1999 and I told him I thought “Force It” was some of his best work. His reply was “Thank you so much”. He then proceeded to sign a poster (to me) that I bought at the show and even signed my ticket stub! I had the poster professionally framed (the ticket stub is in the frame as well). Been on the wall ever since. It remains one of my prized possessions to this day. AWESOME video 🤙🏻😎

But while we both had our roots firmly in "classic rock" he leaned toward hard rock/heavy metal and I leaned toward punk. We thought he was done. We thought we'll give it one more shot and got tickets to a Tampa show 3 years ago this month. It was the last show of the tour and we thought he'll be tired....not on form...etc. The guy literally blew the lid off the place for 3 1/2 hours with 36 songs. These guys are so amazing. Everytime I see Michael in some video it immediatly brings a smile on my face. It's awesome to be able to see him play up close with his friends. He has so many small details in his technique that are unique and interesting. I love the "light touch" way he is playing (still my biggest ambition to no longer press dents into my frets). It's also interesting how often he bends the neck or the bottom of the V for effects and how sensitive his guitar is for that. Seems like he can bend one or even to semitones just by pulling on the headstock. Also he is moving from playing in a fist to playing open handed with the thumb on the neck multiple times. I could sit for hours on the ground in that room and watch them play to learn new things about playing the guitar. Thx for sharing.

Why can I only give this one thumbs up! I started playing drums at 9-years-old and four years later picked up the "One Night at Budokan" album (yes, the vinyl - I'm old) because Cozy Powell was drumming on it. This is truly a masterclass in the art of making music! The three of them play together so beautifully and Michael is giving a clinic on playing the guitar. His solos, tone and unmistakable vibrato coupled with the fact that he is one of the greatest rhythm guitarists in history are showcasing his virtuosity and versatility. Bravo chaps, bravo! 🙌🏾 🙌🏾

Dear Michael I was struggling really down very upset about having serious stage fright and unable to perform ... I found an old guitar world/one magazine with your interview I started reading.... about your life story about your stage fright and your alcohol dependence for that reason and your doctor prescribing you this medication and it didn’t helped you and almost killed you , you’ve had seizures after trying quit it man ,how people took advantage of your kindness and frigidity, Michael thank you for that man , I felt the touch of God reading about all you went through , and tears pored from my eye , about you getting robbed and used , being left on the streets had to sell your guitars , man you are a such inspiration to my life , everyone I know loves and admire you and your legacy , many blessings to you man I hope you are doing well, you look great , your playing is mind blowing, it’s awesome to see you doing what you do best . You are so tough man and you are still standing taller then ever after it all cos you are Rock God !

I can't avoid feeling a bit uneasy when people say things like "Look! The original Scorpions lineup!" in the comments. For all that I know about Michael's life journey, these guys haven't been too good for him, he was not given credit for the Scorpions songs he wrote and didn't get his share from it, Michael's own brother stole from his own blood family. You can't get lower than that. And let's not forget: with the silent compliance of all these Scorpions bandmates all around. Did they do anything in regards to this situation? Or did they just sit there, comfortable with the fact they are earning their little paychecks? In my native language these kind of people are called SCUM. And you don't want to surround yourself with scum, for obvious reasons. If you're here you must already know that similar things happened in UFO, right? The other bandmates silently complied with the singer Phil Mogg stealing from Michael as well. Basically scammed twice in a row. Can't trust anyone else it seems. Better go for solo career then. And then people blame everything on "alcohol and drugs". You couldn't be further from the truth. Wouldn't you drink too given these circumstances? Now, what I don't understand is why is Michael giving these Scorpions drummer and bassist a chance once again, giving them jobs. The drummer is serviceable, bearable, but tell me what does this bassist brings to the table? These guys are doing nothing more than LEECHING FOR A PAYCHECK. The lowest that you can go as a human. Scrapping for the bottom of the barrel. So I ask any of you: Where were all these "friends" of Michael when he needed the most? Now all of them come around once more to get a piece of the pie?? FUCK THEM But don't you worry, the thing with TRUTH is that it always finds a way to be released into the four winds.

I'd have given anything to be in that room to watch and listen to this great lineup. One of the best rhythm sections in the business. I had the pleasure of seeing Michael perform with UFO at a club in Tempe AZ. An intimate venue and a great show. Got to fist pump with Michael.

Nice to hear the Lovedrive album after all these years...Michael Schenker still sounds awesome...Saw Him last at a UFO Reunion tour in the 90's at a club called Annabelle's in Redondo Beach, CA

In the 90's (think it was 1994), I worked at a studio where the original UFO re-recorded an album of their hits for Japan. It was literally the best 8 months ever. Schenker is the best.
