I agree bud. I am 65 now and disabled. Pretty much homebound. But at 46 I bought a ticket after writing Uli Jon Roth who was coming to the states for the first time in 19 YEARS. I was there then. He opened for Michael and Holy....Spirit man he was phenomenal. No other guys but a drummer and a keyboard player and programs so there was nothing to lay back on. And Michael and band were great. But Uli and Michael?!? It was a toss up. But I saw Michael with UFO in 75 and 95 on their reunion. Pshaw! I saw Michael in different incarnations of MSG 4 other times before 2004 my last gig ever. What a way to go out. Uli Jon Roth and Michael Schenker closing. But Michael has produced continually where Uli, regrettably not so much. Michael has adjusted with his R-arm in a sling. You'd be shocked, (I was) by how big Uli's wrists are. Both could care less about modern music and have been plugged into their muse(s) from the beginning and I think that's what makes them so great. But, I think there must've been something radioactive in the water left over in Germany from the war as they were born 30 miles away from each other and less than one month too. What a privilege to have been alive during their reigns. Rock on.

@Haroun-El-Poussah5 күн бұрын
Oh, you know, most of the time, there is only a single amp (or two if you play in stereo) running and you take two of the EL34s out to reduce it to 50W, then your best choice is to have only the two upper speakers connected in the 4x12 and get rid of the two lower ones or use 'em as passive speakers, so you get a bass-reflex cab: the internal volume of a 4x12" won't give you the at least 45L needed per 12" speaker... To give you a little idea, I own a Marshall EL34-100/100 (2x100W, JCM900 poweramps), with only two 1x12 loaded with the Electrovoice speakers, it's so loud you won't mike your speakers in the PA for a venue of 1000-1500 !!!! Actually, I didn't bought this amp for my guitar but to mount a bridge system and have a monophonic 200W for my bass, using the Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp. Actually, as a guitar amp, I tend to use the Marshall EL84-20/20 with the two EV 1x12"s and my habitual Mesa Boogie Triaxis preamp: it's already too loud for clubs with 250ppl or for most of stages... If I had to do really large stage, the Marshall 9005 (2x50W from the JCM800 series) would be more than enough, you know, your best interest is not to become deaf! When Gilmour did Earl's Court (19,000 venue) in 1974, he used 10x 100W HiWatt amps with 20 4x12"s and he wasn't miked into the PA (!) and insanely loud... Back in the old days, PAs were utter crap, even the keyboards had their own amps... but there were not a lot of super-large venues and playing in stadiums was exceptional. A buddy of mine played at the Sonic-Sphere with his 22W Mesa Boogie combo, so did Mike Oldfield at the Wembley Stadium in 1983 for the Crisis tour... You should do a little pictures search for "fake Marshall wall" It's been decades since the cab walls are just stage props! Even at the 1983 US Festival, it was already the case! Mick Mars had just a 50W Marshall with a single 4x12, and so did the Judas Priest guys too! BTW, Metallica stoped to use real amps, so did The Edge (U2), Steve Howe (Yes) etc : they all use digital simulation (and sound like crap), it's more and more common to have soundless stages nowadays, with everybody playing with ear-monitoring. 90% of the audience hear no difference, unfortunately...
@EricLoeser5 күн бұрын
@harounel-poussah6936 Cool info. Also I know about the marshall props. Just commented on how I like the stage stepup. I hate video screens and to much techno shite. But thanx for your input. Very knowledgeable. ✌️.

@kevinkiso457911 ай бұрын
"Ranks up there with Eddie..." You must really not be too awfully aware of Michael's history. And the amount of original music he's been making for over fifty years. Over fifty-five years; he was seventeen when he joined UFO. Lights Out, Force It, Lovedrive, Strangers In The Night, Phenomenon, the acoustic Thank You series... Before the Stones got Ronnie Wood; Andrew Loog-Oldham called Michael's manager to see if he wanted the job, not an audition, but would he please consider joining when Mick Taylor left(?) Michael's manager told Andrew not to even waste his time or money. Before Eddie, Yngwie, Lynch, di Martini, McCalpine, Becker, and the dozens of other sweep-dopes & sweep- demons ..... Michael Schenker was filling the sheds and stadiums of America and Europe along with Jimmy Page, Brian May, Tony Iommi, Mick Ralphs, Ritchie Blackmore (Oh yes, Deep Purple wanted Michael as well.) Pete Townsend, Mick Ronson, Phil Lynott/ Scott Gorham/ Brian Robertson, Billy Gibbons, Angus & Malcom Young, Rick Neilson, Alex Lifeson, Buck Dharma, etc... Michael hasn't an ounce of fat on him. He looks exactly like he did in 1975. When you hear about Michael Schenker, you don't have to hear about his Lamborghini's and how Claudio gave him Sammy fckng Haggard's phone number. Or his Weight Loss Diet Corporation wife... (Michael did kind of lose it a few years back about his rift with Rudolph.) You don't have to read about Schlitz Malt Liquor, Heineken, or cocaine... PURE MUSIC. He's just pure music.

I'm just about through Red Sky and I've got to say that this is the best and most even performance I've heard from Michael and the band ever. Even comparing them to the 1st MSG in the early 80's this certainly competes. Amazing. Michael has to restrain his picking hand, so maybe the set list is geared around that. The band, all of them are so solid and sharp. Rockpalast sound is always great too. Michael is 68 man. Wow!!!

Is this a brand new gig ? .....Why would Michael have to restrain his picking hand ? ....Is he ok ?

Yeah man. New gig and Michael's right elbow pad...5 years now? He has changed his style quite a bit. He is 68 and not the 1st to wear that pad. He makes up for it in genius ways. Notice his left hand on the neck, (What he does at the end of Rock Bottom is phenomenal.) compare it to any earlier video recordings. He had a severe problem in the late 80's and quit playing 12 hours a day. I'm a historian on Michael. It's amazing he is able to do this, but at times, while picking he looks quite pained. I have Ulnar Neuropathy O.K. and the worst thing I can do, worse than using a screw driver or scrubbing is picking a guitar.@@walterevans2118

The first MSG vinyls ran endlessly on my hifi system and I tried to figure out all the great licks and solos. Despite the fact that I never got it right Michaels work was a great inspiration to me!!!

Schenker is playing Gibson Flyng V's again O.K. But I can't believe how many people are like, "Oh, his tone is so much better with those, etc. I want to say, WATCH THIS.. If he sounds this good with a Gibson, great. Bu so far I don't hear it, yet Rockpalast always has a better sound than fan-made club recordings. His performance here is A+ Been a fan since 74.

ONE OF FAVS GUITARISTS, GOOD CONCERT!...ON MY OPINION WOULD LIKE A DIFFERENT SETLIST, SOME SONGS THAT I LIKE BETTER, EVEN AS HE ALWAYS DOES, TO INCLUDE SOME SCORP. SONGS...(as he performed on that ones)... THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD AND SHARE!...LONG LIVE M.S.!!🙏🙏
