I'm happy for him, that he pressed on and matured through his struggles. He's definitely a gift to the realm of music. Perhaps guitarists appreciate him the most, because they know just how good he is, not just as a guitarist, but as a composer...👍👌🎶🎸

It is so refreshing to hear this kind of sentiment in this era of cheap celebrity. Michael has been criticised as a poor businessman but that's because he's that rare bird who puts his art ahead of commercial success. That has made him an easy victim of the vultures and hyenas of the music world. Yet he's still been such an inspiration to so many serious guitarists and music lovers who are in the know and have followed his career. More power to him.

And funny that he mentioned living in Arizona - I lived in the Mesa/Tempe area during the mid-to-late 90's, and I remember seeing his ad in a free singles magazine - lol I was all "No fucking way! That's Michael Schenker - why would he need to resort to that?" But I guess he just wanting to meet some down-to-earth women who weren't groupies or after him for his money. Also, an underage girl I worked with at a thrift store told me that she used to clean his house and he would hit on her. Not judging though - that's how famous rock musicians usually are.

The Rock Bottom riff isn't that easy to play, but I find it slightly easier by doing what Tonka Chapman did - referring to the lower G on the way back to bottom E. The solo's unplayable, of course. :)

Michael Schenker was one of the best. Unfortunately he got sloppy and his sound stinks today.
