Love his playing, he's always had such a unique style with UFO and Scorpions and that black and white V is definitely one of the most iconic guitars of all time

When I was 14 I bought the 2nd MSG album. I had never heard of Michael, and I bought the album because of an ad in Circus magazine. I dropped the needle on my turntable on the first track "Are You Ready to Rock", and I have been a fan ever since.

saw him with UFO - you had to be there. His tone and technique was outstanding. Eddie VH wasnt on the scene yet.

March of 2018 at the Grove of Anaheim, I did the meet & greet for Michael Schenker Fest and got to see the band during sound check. The actual show was amazing!

Yeah, that rhythm section was the best he's had, although Herman and Francis were especially tight for the Temple of Rock period. The Grove is a good venue.

Saw Michael live only once. With MSG in '84. I stood 10 feet away directly Infront of him. All stage volume and it was an incredible experience. I was 17 then and Michael was/is one of my biggest guitar influences. 🤘

I went to a Schenker concert about 10 yrs or so ago, i was 15-20ft from the stage and I stand at 6’5”, I barely saw him bc he was crouched down the whole time, this is why to this day I can say “i nvr really saw Michael Schenker”

I've been jamming to Micheal since the 70's. I always associated red Flying V's with Schenker. That's why I have a red Flying V.

Schenker on EVH: "I love Eddie's playing, you know, he's for me, by far the best guitar player. And even though I wasn't listening to music, you could never get away [from] hearing [it] anywhere... And so really, he was fascinating. I mean, he's my favorite guitar player."

Finally, an interview where he's upbeat & not bitching about Rudy/Scorps Fng his life over! Damn that's refreshing. Seriously tho, I hope Gibson doesn't botch this & I agree w/Mad Mikey's assertion that it doesn't necessarily need to be "black and white" to be considered a Schenker V.... I never got the whole you-need-a-signature-axe-painted-in-the-exact-color-scheme-for-it-to-be-authentic BS anyways; if that's the case, just have your own Flying V done up w/a custom paintjob.I like these solid white 70s V's & solid black 80s V's he's been slinging lately, they look super cool. He makes the point that it's a 40+ yr old design, why not move onto whatever new.

I hate how he always refers to the amps he used as a "50 watt", I wish he would just say the model number. Also Jas Obrecht released on youtube a taped interview he did with Michael over the phone back in the early 80s where Michael gives a lot of specific information on his guitars and gear. Also back in the 80s Gibson released a limited run of a Mathias Jabs signature Explorer that was 1/10th the size of a regular explorer. I hope Gibson reissues that.
